I think the polls are next to irrelevant, because the populace has been conditioned to support only the narrowest viewpoints. If the polls are dishonest, its just part of the conditioning.
If we manage to dump Harper, it will be an accomplishment. My expectations for the election and for Canadians are very low.

Funny, I didn't see anything discrediting polls around here a couple weeks ago when they favoured the NDP.

If a poll shows the NDP behind, it's because "the man" wants to demoralize NDP supporters. If a poll shows the NDP ahead, it's because "the man" wants to lull NDP supporters into a false sense of security.

Is that better? I'm sure it's not.
I don't even know why I bother. NDP slips in the polls, and all the sudden it's "don't listen to the polls they are just trying to mislead and influence you," and so I point out the blatant hypocrisy and I get countered with "the greens did it at the local level too."
Most polling companies do have terrible records though, politics aside. Never trust Forum. They're the worst. Be highly suspect of Ipsos, EKOS, and Nanos. The only ones I take seriously are Angus Reid and abacus, outside of a few provincial pollsters. The others have just been too wrong too often.
Oh and this Mainstreet crew is a joke, but that should be obvious.

Support proportional representation so that in future elections, we can vote without worrying about polls and strategic voting.
