#mylatestpoll

Do you know anything, at all, about Nanos Research? Are you reasonably comfortable with the editorial position of the Globe and Mail? Does CTV News support your community? Do you know anyone who works for these corporations? Do you have any reason to believe or trust in anything that is the product of their conspiracy?

If you answered "NO" to one or more of the above questions, you too may be a Poll Disbeliever.

‪#‎mylatestpoll‬ Are the polls controlled by corporations with self-serving, profit-oriented interests? 99% say Yes. 1% say No.

‪#‎mylatestpoll‬ Are the polls rigged? 6%No 22%Likely 63%Yes 9%Undecided

Are polls used to:
a) read the electorate?
b) influence the electorate?
c) distract the electorate? or
d) control the electorate?

What do you think?

I think the polls are next to irrelevant, because the populace has been conditioned to support only the narrowest viewpoints.  If the polls are dishonest, its just part of the conditioning.

If we manage to dump Harper, it will be an accomplishment.  My expectations for the election and for Canadians are very low.

Funny, I didn't see anything discrediting polls around here a couple weeks ago when they favoured the NDP.

Q1. Do the polls support the narrative I want them to support?

If Yes-> These polls are clearly legitimate and show that my viewpoint is correct

If No-> These polls are clearly biased, corrupt, or bought. Discredit the source.

Q2. Is Trudeau going to lose his seat in Papineau?

If poll is commissioned and released by NDP-> Yes

Else-> No

TL:DR. The only obvious attempt to influence or distract the electorate with a poll this election, has been by the NDP.

If a poll shows the NDP behind, it's because "the man" wants to demoralize NDP supporters. If a poll shows the NDP ahead, it's because "the man" wants to lull NDP supporters into a false sense of security.

Really, in what alternate universe is that?

Is that better? I'm sure it's not.

I don't even know why I bother. NDP slips in the polls, and all the sudden it's "don't listen to the polls they are just trying to mislead and influence you," and so I point out the blatant hypocrisy and I get countered with "the greens did it at the local level too."

Most polling companies do have terrible records though, politics aside. Never trust Forum. They're the worst. Be highly suspect of Ipsos, EKOS, and Nanos. The only ones I take seriously are Angus Reid and abacus, outside of a few provincial pollsters. The others have just been too wrong too often.

Oh and this Mainstreet crew is a joke, but that should be obvious.

Use cbc polltracker.  They use all of the polls together to give a consolidated view.

Support proportional representation so that in future elections, we can vote without worrying about polls and strategic voting.
