(Trois-Rivières) The approximately 10,000 people who will take part in the Québec rally of the World March of Women will raise their voices about the many demands made by these women for a world guaranteeing their equality with men.
Buses from all regions of Québec will converge towards Trois-Rivières on Saturday around 9 a.m. so women and men can take part in this large peaceful demonstration which will kick off at 11 a.m. With the slogan "Liberate our bodies, our Earth and our territories", the major demonstration will be a mobilizing event and a demonstration of the solidarity which has always united women. It will above all be an opportunity to make their voicies heard about the importance of safeguarding the environment, of speaking out against violence against women and denouncing the various forms of control over women's bodies.
There will be a show featuring around 60 performing artists, some from First Nations. The singers Sylvie Tremblay and Fabiola Toupin will take part, along with dance companies. Performers from teenagers to older generations...
