Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says he wants to talk to Bill Gates about "closing that Internet up in some way" in order to prevent Islamic terrorist group ISIS from recruiting kids.

Speaking at a Pearl Harbor Day rally in South Carolina yesterday, Trump said, "We have kids that are watching the Internet and they want to be masterminds...  they're young, they're impressionable, they go over there, and they want to join ISIS."

That's over a decade old. The DLC is defunct. A lot of people said the same thing about Reagan.

And Bernie Sanders has made his campaign about speaking to these very same issues.

Since 1952, a US president has had authority under an Immigration and Citizenship Act of that year to exclude any 'class' of people from the United States. Although what Herr Drumpf has said is vile and despicable, it may well be within his writ as POTUS should he unfortunately be elected.

I think he's right and I think Bernie Sanders' role is similarly to corral the lib-lefty types for eventual delivery to Hillary

Interesting for its focus on the Kennedy period, but the basis thesis, that the south flipped because of racism, is well established. And now there are "new" blacks, Latinos and Muslims, for them to fear.

As for Trump, the only way he can win a general election, imo, is if there are terrorist attacks in the U.S. next fall.
