He may have succeeded at one thing:  making his little movement seem important and dangerous to some people.

There's no better publicity for outcasts than the perception that the state must intervene to stop them, because they're on the verge of becoming a mass movement that will turn society upside down, or because they have the courage to speak inconvenient truths, or because they challenge the hegemonic status quo or whatever.

So while it was nice to see city officials unanimously tell them to fuck off, to some prospective supporters that's just evidence that Roosh isn't a joke -- he must be a Very Important Man.

Where do the inconveniet truths come in on this issue?

Mr. Magoo

I was speaking about the fringe in general, and not about "Return of Kings" in the specific, but to a potential new supporter, those "truths" could include:

-  women don't really have it that bad -- watch this 140 minute YouTube video to learn more!

-  if women don't want to be raped their bodies have a way of shutting that down -- therefore, there is no such thing as rape.

-  we're not here to disrupt anything, we would just like to have an honest and truthful discussion of FemiNazis, if that's even possible any more.

-  men really DO have it that bad-- watch this 141 minute YouTube video to learn more!

-  what happens in my condo, stays in my condo.  If you do not agree that *I* make the rules in my condo, it is incumbent upon you to never enter my condo.

I'm just saying that if you're kind of irrelevant, any official attention can make you look like you're relevant.  And maybe important.  Maybe even a dangerous force of truth, to be reckoned with!

None of that sounds like truths to me, inconvenient or otherwise.

Mr. Magoo

I would agree.  None are, IMHO, truths.  And none are so inconvenient as to bring down the House of Feminism.  But that's just *us*.

To some loser who WANTS to believe, these are psalms.

Sorry to be giving him more attention, but this might be worth it. Turns out he lives in his mom's basement:

Looks like one of the cops who visited him was a woman. Nice.

I see, I didn't know you were talking for those losers.

Yeah, "successful businessman" my Aunt Fanny.

kropotkin1951

If he was a successful businessman he would need way less bullshit pickup lines.

This is true.

That is hilarious - and the best possible outcome, make him into a laughing stock. These days, lots of adults have to live in their parents' basement, but his vainglory and hypocrisy can take him down like an overinflated balloon. His mum should boot him out, given his contempt for women who are "no longer fertile". We aren't so useless, are we, big boy?

Patton Oswalt on Twitter: "Roos V is the Rachel Dolezal of not living in his mom's basement."

I wasn't "talking for them" -- as though to give them a voice -- I was just using my human imagination to guess how they might see all of this.

And I would have thought that I made that clear when I said:
