Look at Trump's lead in the GOP contests!

By-the-way Rubio is a Florida Senator.

WHO SAID IT: “DONALD TRUMP HAS SHOWN AN EXTRAORDINARY ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND OUR ECONOMY, TO CREATE JOBS”
For Romney to turn around and so blatantly ignore his track record when blasting Trump's is, in a word, preposterous

Here is an article which attempts to explain it but...
Thanks for that. I'm reluctant to promote any one article to "the gospel truth", but that was certainly interesting, and more plausible than "Sanders is just more white than Clinton".
Last summer, one of the most telling and memorable moments of the still-nascent Democratic presidential race took shape when two protesters affiliated with the "Black Lives Matter" movement interrupted the Vermont senator at a Social Security rally in Seattle, demanding his microphone and overtaking him at the podium. Despite the chorus of boos from a disappointed crowd, organizers failed to regain control of the event, prompting Sanders to cancel the speech and leave the premises. The disruption only lasted four and a half minutes, but that’s all it took for Sanders—an active participant in the 1960s civil rights movement and a proponent of reforming the country’s racially biased criminal justice system—to become "just another out-of-touch old white dude" in the eyes of many African Americans.
Huh.
A voter was just asked what kind of impact Romney and gang were having and his response was: "It makes him want to vote twice for Trump"
Ask Romney who he is going to vote for if Trump does indeed with the GOP nomination.
A voter was just asked what kind of impact Romney and gang were having and his response was: "It makes him want to vote twice for Trump"
Being a Trump voter, they probably think they can vote twice
If Romney's gang gets their way, and it is a contested convention, many of the non-Trump delegates at the GOP convention could be voting several times for each ballot.
Rumours are flying a mile a minute within GOP circles. The Republican establishment is angry, very angry. There is talk of serveral other possible candidates now entering or re-entering the race including Romney, Jeb Bush, and wait for it Paul Ryan.
And apparently independent Bloomberg has rented office space in Texas in case he needs to work quickly to get his name on the ballot.
Who agrees with this?

Big loser tonite is Rubio who is probably done like dinner now, in last place in the latest poll in Michigan, but he's a mascochist so will probably stay in.

Why is the NY Times involved in off the record conversations with any presidential candidate?
For those who may be interested in the chain of events which brought us to this bizarre election season, salon.com has a very good summary of the relevant history of the Republican Party, starting with the great depression of the 1930s, and the rise of FDR's New Deal. I found it interesting even though I already knew most of the story from the 1960s to the present. The author is a professor who has written a book on the history of the Republican Party, and really seems to know her subject.
Indeed a good article Mike.

Rumours, probably from the Cruz campaign, that Cruz will now take Maine which could put a dent in Trump's inevitability of grabing GOP nomination.

That's a really interesting analysis, thanks for sharing it! Its conclusion:
Party leaders never cared much about the social issues they promised to evangelical voters, but that bargain has now come home to roost with the candidacy of Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who is a Christian Dominionist eager to make America a Christian theocracy. And then there is Donald Trump. His policies have no ideological coherence, but certainly he is not a Movement Conservative. Rather, he is a salesman appealing to the electorate that Movement Conservative rhetoric has created. Those people have been dispossessed by the economic policies that have redistributed wealth dramatically upward since 1980. They are angry, and have untethered their hatred of minorities and women from the Movement Conservative rhetoric that pushed opposition to taxes and government activism.
Movement Conservatives deliberately overturned a moderate American consensus in favor of government activism by appealing to the nation’s basest prejudices. Their movement is now collapsing under its own weight. With the death of that movement, the party, and the nation, has an opportunity to make a New Deal and resurrect a Middle Way.
It seems as though Trump's popularity might suggest that even some nominally Republican-committed voters would be interested in someone who doesn't remind them of every other Republican candidate they've ever seen.
And similarly that Sanders' popularity might suggest the equivalent.
Wouldn't it be fascinating if the arcane and opaque Electoral College model had room for FOUR candidates? Trump vs. Sanders vs. Cruz vs. Clinton?
Clinton leads 651 dellegates won to 456 for Sanders (Maine which has 25 delegates is not yet included)
