Sorry to break it to you, but there's no obsession connected to you here. Question was asked, answer given. Frankly, the OP namecalling is exponentially worse than anything you've said, Alan, but we had drifted off the OP somewhat. Which, IMV anyway, was a good thing.

I agree with your view. My defenses were acting up because I felt I was being singled out.

Peace,brother.

Sorry Embarassed It's an impulse for most males, turns out I'm one of them,to always assume he's talking to a guy when he's on the internet.

That was quite embarrassing. But it was nice to get to know you.I know better now. We're all brothers and sisters. Why fight amongst ourselves?

Cheers.

I feared a Tea Party government and here it is becoming a reality. Clinton is small potatoes when it comes to hawks. There are some real lunatics running Trump's campaign and talking points.

Clinton is pretty much a Republican that does not recognize the 'Tea Party'

It's going to come down to these 2 individuals. Clinton is not a threat compared with Donnie boy. The people that surround him are far more evil than the people surrounding Clinton.

Gary Johson is no Bernie. Personal freedom guised under the cloak of corporate freedom. He lives on a whole different galaxy than I do when it comes to economic policy. I like Jill Stein,I'd probably vote for her.

BUT if I lived in a swing state I would hold my nose and vote for Clinton. Trump seems like Duterte, not vice versa.

Really -- you don't see a difference?

I see the difference, but still hold the opinion that it's a little on the puerile side.

Fair enough. I am one of those that likes puns in most circumstances. I try to avoid the really nasty but the temptation is always there. Sure it is childish but not always harmful and that's why I would not equate them as the same. Some of the Trudeau ones were extreme in a number of ways -- mine was silly -- but neither cruel nor harmful.

This is kind of like the great kerfuffle over the naked trump statues.

Personally, I thought it was lame at first. Only after I saw people losing their minds over it did I realize how brilliant a piece of public art it was. Potty art might not be my personal preference, but I am fine with others enjoying it, depending on the circumstances.

Oh, I like puns. I just have a name that has a lot of pun potential and I was pretty much done with that by grade 2. Now, when some wag trots out the pun/reference jokey bit, I smile and change the subject but think "Really? You think that's original?" and I'm inclined to dislike said wag. So a personal dislike of the name as joke thing to start with.

But I also don't see it leading to any kind of useful discussion. So mostly it's a shrug. The stuff Clinton gets called, though, is pretty rank and IMO way over the top (coincidence that she's female?). As in the OP.

I agree there. Hitlery is way worse than any of the Trump stuff, like most of the flak she is getting here.

What I mean to say is that it is contextual, and that just because it is not everyone's taste, or even if it is just plain dumb, does not mean it is invalid.

Plus every now and then one of those dumb potty comics will hit the nail in the head, so as much as I dislike a lot of their stuff, my default is to give them a pass.

Mr. Magoo

I'm starting to think "If you can't beat them, join them".

So I propose that we all just start referring to her as "Shitlery".  Or, if any bros have strong feelings, perhaps we could think of something that rhymes with "Huntlery".  This is not a time to be timid, it's a time to use awkward and contorted puns about her name to SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER.

Let's turn babble into a cheap Canadian knock-off of the Drudge Report!!!  Who's in?

My name is pun-friendly as well as I also learned in school.

Somewhere there's an intelligent, dedicated, principled progressive named Hugh Jass who would rather toil in anonymity at the vinegar works than put his name -- God forbid, his name -- in the hat.
