The Tax-Returns Story May Eat Up Precious Time For Trump

Is Trump an anti war candidate?
"Where in 1972 McGovern was the ideologically anti-war candidate of the left, Taft opposed war and military expansion from a deeply conservative perspective. In this he is very much like Trump.
A true definition of conservatism means supporting stability and tradition at home, non-intervention abroad, and a robust defence in the event of a threat of military aggression from a foreign power.
In this sense Trump and Taft are part of a US conservative tradition that has been relentlessly attacked over 60 years of interventionism and hawkishness......"

Richard Branson has posted an account of a lunch meeeting he had with Trump back when The Donald was reeling from several of his companies going bankrupt. It's rather frightening, but not surprising.
Some years ago, Mr Trump invited me to lunch for a one-to-one meeting at his apartment in Manhattan. We had not met before and I accepted. Even before the starters arrived he began telling me about how he had asked a number of people for help after his latest bankruptcy and how five of them were unwilling to help. He told me he was going to spend the rest of his life destroying these five people. He didn’t speak about anything else and I found it very bizarre. I told him I didn’t think it was the best way of spending his life. I said it was going to eat him up, and do more damage to him than them. There must be more constructive ways to spend the rest of your life. (Hopefully my advice didn’t lead to him running for President!)
I find it fascinating to see what an accomplished and cultured oligarch like Branson thinks of Trump and HRC.
Later, I remember contrasting the lunch with a one-to-one lunch I shared with Hillary Clinton. Here we talked about education reform, the war on drugs, women’s rights, conflicts around the globe and the death penalty. She was a good listener as well as an eloquent speaker. As she understands well, the President of the United States needs to understand and be engaged with wider world issues, rather than be consumed by petty personal quarrels.
Is Cheeto face the worst candidate ever? Probably. But I lived through the Reagan years and back then in my overly enthusiastic youth, wrote songs about him and considered Hinckley (almost) a hero.
I have to say, that this Orange asshole makes Ronnie look like a moderate. He also makes Dubya seem somewhat smart.
But Bill Clinton was a bigger asshole than both Raygun and Dubya.
So in my lifetime has there been a worse candidate? Very debateable. I'd have to think about it.

Michael Moore is, of course, very anti-Trump and I'm trying, but so far failing, to find the original speech for original context. The edited one is approx 4m25s long. Does anyone know where I can find the original?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/10/27/hillary-clinton-enjoys-stagge...Cody don't read this or you might begin to cry!Let me go on the record as preferring a Clinton victory. I think it will be close, if I had to put money down it would be on Trump (assuming 1:2 odds for either candidate). I'm nearly certain Trump will win if election fraud is either minimal or obvious like in the Democratic primary (~12%) and successfully challenged. I believe the sweet spot they can get away with is about 4%-6% and that's about what I would expect Trump to win by sans fraud, so I expect it to be quite close in reality.
But, I will state now unequivocally that I prefer a Clinton victory. This doesn't come easily, however, I don't believe Trump can fix the corruption in Washington that Clinton represents. I do believe that Clinton will continue to be Clinton (tonedeaf, arrogant, and corrupt) and will continue to push a neoconservative globalist agenda motivated entirely by political optics instead of what is good for the 99%.
Ignorant fools like yourself will continue to be distracted by her petty identity politics and continue to cheerlead for her as she drives America to ruin through sheer hubris and incompetence. She will drive the Titanic that is the American uniparty establishment straight into the iceberg that Trump would try to avoid - prolonging the inevitable.
Once the Titanic sinks, maybe Americans will be ready to try a truly different tack. This will happen faster if Clinton wins than if Trump wins. Trump might be able to delay it - if only by being a distraction of public outrage - by ten or fifteen years. When the collapse comes, I want the blame to be exactly where it belongs - at the feet of the establishment.
I'm still young and healthy. If there is to be a revolution - which I believe is inevitable and just a matter of time - better to be sooner rather than later.
Was wondering why those big gold letters that spell "TRUMP" have been covered up on Georgia Street as if that is going to take away the stench.

It's very simple. Trump represents all the dark forces that exist in American politics and the American psyche. The reason people are uncomfortable with him is that the US has never actually confronted these dark forces head on, instead they've covered them up or tried to pretend their way around them. People will say, "I treat women with respect, I don't judge racial minorities, I have gay friends, ergo I am a good person, problem solved." Problem is not solved because it does not go to the structural issues facing society. For example, when it comes to racism (and I really wish I could remember where I heard this) I was listening to a discussion during Martin Luther King day, and the point was made that in the 1960s, if you wanted blacks out of a neighbourhood you simply said so, but now you just raise the rents in the area and that effectively accomplishes the same thing. So here you have this crazy person who says what so many people think, and people don't know how to "make it go away," because it won't "go away." It has to be fought, and fighting it is not easy.

Another reason why Clinton cannot gain any traction against Trump is that the only thing she can do is state what people already know, which is that Trump is a reprehensible human being. Trump himself doesn't even deny that.
A sequel to the documentary "You've Been Trumped" (about the struggle of local residents around the building of the Trump golf course in Aberdeenshire) has just been released. "You've Been Trumped Too" is available for free on Facebook live - I highly recommend it. I saw the first film at Hot Docs when it came out.
