Rise of Trumpism.
i've never read Hunter S Thompson. my mom swears by him. i'm going to start reading though think mom has all his books.
explains to me wth though.
Hunter S was my favourite in my black hash, LSD and alcohol fueled version of the '60's. He was not only outrageous he was also very insightful. Here are some pithy quotes from him. When I was in my out of control phrase I dreamed of doing a road trip with him.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

my fav "when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro" lolol
Hunter S. Thompson was a gifted shitkicker and wordsmith, who succoured the latent libertarian fantasies in many of us. He was a really interesting character and a good read, although he offered few life lessons for the sane.
My point: 30+ years ago I worked at a Winnipeg newspaper and over beers we came up with the *excellent* idea of hiring him to cover the.... ....................Manitoba Curling Bonspiel!!! We called his agent who bid $8,000, too much for our speculative, unapproved budget.
But I still wish we had gone for it. Could have been a classic! Hunter S. and CURLING? Yes, yes and yes.
who offers life's lessons for the sane?
who offers life's lessons for the sane?
Umm, sane people? My mom! If not mine, yours?
i'm not sure sane people would offer life lessons to other sane people. what's the point? ;)
definition of sanity is an ability to behave in a normal rational manner. wouldn't it just be a state of being not an acquisition?
