Violence at Winnipeg trans march

Just receiving reports on FB about violence at the Trans march in Winnipeg. "People beating each other with flags, poles and bats", and warnings to stay away. Nothing in the media yet.

There's nothing on the Facebook link. Here's the cbc story:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/winnipeg-trans-march-arrest-1.414...

A 22-year-old Winnipegger who identifies as transgender was arrested after filming police during a clash between opposing protest groups ahead of the city's first march in support of transgender people.

The arrest happened around noon across the street from the legislative grounds, where the Trans March was set to begin at 2 p.m. as part of Winnipeg's Pride festival. A video circulating on social media captured the arrest, and shows a police officer forcing an activist onto the hood of a police cruiser in the process.

The confrontation turned violent, as members of both sides got involved in an altercation and began throwing fists at each other. This prompted security at the Legislature to call the police.

“There was a call for several Islamophobic, ultra-nationalist and white supremacists to hold rallies all throughout Canada,” said Omar Kinnarath, a member of the Fascist Free Treaty 1 group....
