Bill Cosby Plans Tour To Teach How to Not Get Charged With Sexual Assault

Not the Onion.

Fresh out of court after his sexual assault case ended in a mistrial, Bill Cosby is planning a speaking tour to educate young people, including athletes and married men, about how to avoid being charged with sexual assault.

From the article:

Wyatt stressed the need for more education on the statutes of limitations for being charged with a sex crime, which is, quite frankly, disgusting. Cosby spokesperson Ebonee Benson told WBRC, “Laws are changing. The statute of limitations for victims of sexual assault are being extended. So this is why people need to be educated. A brush against the shoulder, anything at this point, can be considered sexual assault and it’s a good thing to be educated about the laws.”

It's very easy, actually. Don't sexually assault people.

Well there's that too. Of course that isn't what he is teaching at all. He's going to tell them how to get away with it. Clearly he just doesn't even care how this looks.

I know.

Mr. Magoo

About 99% of the population actually has more experience with not being charged with sexual assault.

Maybe he'll deliver some pro tips for ensuring a mistrial.

I think the answer to that is picking one of these guys for your jury:

It really is as simple as leafing through the jury pool until you find one or two of these who will stonewall the jury.

I totally get what you're saying about that juror.

But as a procedural point, if jury selection in the U.S. is like in Canada, and if I'm not mistaken, then jurors are selected at random, and each side (prosecution/Crown and defense) has a certain number of vetoes which they can use to deselect a juror that they feel might be biased against them.

So to select such a juror would mean NOT vetoing them, and also expecting that the other side is either out of vetoes, or will not wish to spend one of their vetoes on this juror.

I don't think that's how it works, is it?
