Vancouver's Right-Wing Politics - Is the NPA done?

If the truth be told Geoff Meggs & Vision Vancouver have basically destroyed Vancouver's right-wing political party - the Non-Partisan Association. Quite the name these wingers chose, as it is as partisan right-wing as they come.

Cry your heart out CKNW, Sun, Province Mikey Smyth, Keith Baldrey, Trvor Lauten, etc. It looks good on all you right-wingers

Hopefully Meggs and friends can do to Dianne Watts, our former Queen of Surrey, the high priestess of the crime capital of Canada under her watch, or whoever the wingers choose to lead them, and to the Liberals, what he has done to the NPA.

It will be hard for Vision to stay in power given the housing affordability crisis. After Vision, NPA is the party with the next-highest level of support.

That is what I was thinking. I also think the right will coalesce their vote around the NPA and the left will split the vote a few ways. Also, I think that after being mayor since 2008, people are growing weary of "Mayor Moonbeam." I hope he has the sense to step aside before the 2018 election.

Too bad we are stuck with the unfair at-large FPTP system. We should switch to PR-STV.

If I was a betting person, I would say the Greens will win the byelection for council and a Green - Vision group will win school board. In 2018 it'll be a Vision and Green majority with the NPA with 2 seats.
