I can't think of any other female lawyers or ex-lawyers who have successfully defended a rapist in court with brutal tactics and gone on to be considered major feminist icons, so that checks out.

I shouldn't criticize though. The article makes very valid points that I agree with, particularly the below, and I hope they are remembered the next time it's relevant.

Within this framework, any woman who supports war or is a proud and successful capitalist is necessarily a feminist. In fact, feminism is not about shifting around various hierarchies in order to allow women to participate in the oppression of other women. If this were the case, a female brothel owner or trafficker who did a very good job of profiting from the exploitation of marginalized women and girls would be a feminist success story. Likewise, Margaret Thatcher, who royally screwed over the poor and working class during her reign, could be considered peak feminism.

That ain't it. Feminism is not about the ability for a few individual women to access wealth and power, at the expense of more marginalized women (or at the expense of women, as a whole).

Why it’s time to get rid of Time’s Person of the Year

I don't entirely agree that it should be "Time's Movement of the Year" either.  But if Time insists on awarding Person of the Year to inanimate objects, vague groups, and concepts, I do have to wonder why "Air" keeps losing out, year after year.

Is anyone going to say that 2017 (or any other year) would have been quite the same without Air??

What a load of fucken garbage from another corporate media bs show!  people  have been marginalized abused raped killed and treated like shit basically for ever. And women men have been vocal about this for generations, and all this time the corporate media has said sweet shit fuck all! Oh but now All of a sudden because the media NOW wants to run stories on people coming forward about their abuse they endured, the attention is all on the victims bravery.  Here’s an idea, maybe if the corporate media actually did it’s fucken job that it’s supposed to do in the first place, and actually published the news that matters to the everyday person instead of focusing on sensationalism twisted propaganda bent with a perverted agenda, then maybe just maybe some of the predators out there preying on the vulnerable would think twice about the consequences of their actions! Times person of the year should actually be about the media’s sad sorry lame ass performance in reporting news events that really matter and the harm the media has caused by ignoring the predator/victims for generations! Time probably only picked this subject because they felt that they can make a better buck from it and a little more free publicity instead of picking Trump or Xi JinPing. If someone else’s face on the cover of time magazine can sell more copies and bring in more money, I wouldn’t be having this rant right now.
