Magoo:    I had to look up the definition of dudgeon.   "High dudgeon" is nice usage of it.

I agree there were insulting things said on all sides.   I don't want to relitigate it here, I said what I thought at the time and I still think it.   My dudgeon is not as high about his comments, true -- ikosmos was vastly outnumbered and I think the tone and example set by the moderator was a key issue.   But he and we all could have been better back then.

US Congress Targets Green Party Candidate Jill Stein Over Allegations and Collusion With Russia

http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2017/12/21/stei-d21.html

"The targeting of Stein is a major intensification of the anti-Russia witch hunt, which, in addition to fighting out factional disputes with the ruling elite, is aimed ultimately at domestic political opposition within the United States. The return of McCarthyism is centered on anti-Russia hysteria, but is part of a broader campaign to censor political opposition in the face of mass social unrest..."

NorthReport who is not a bot, but behaves as a poorly programmed one, incessantly  reposts without any thought, any fraudulent Trump/Russia/Wikileaks Conspiracy Theory his search engine lands on.

Here, we have him reposting an article from the late defunct and discredited right-wing "Heat Street" from a year ago, alleging that there is documentary evidence Snowden is a Russian spy. "Heat Street" one may recall was edited by Louise Mensch:

Mensch, as well as her website Heat Street, has published multiple unverified claims, and promoted hoaxes and conspiracy theories about the Trump administration and its ties to the Russian Federation.[9][10]

The Rise of the Liberal Conspiracy Theorist
Louise Mensch’s loony Trump fantasies fill a craving the left didn’t know it had.

MAY 24, 2017
https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2017/06/louise-mensch-and-the-rise-o...

and from the Guardian,

Lurid Trump allegations made by Louise Mensch and co-writer came from hoaxer
Mensch and Claude Taylor tweeted details of criminal inquires that didn’t exist
Hoaxer who fed information said she acted out of frustration over fake news
Taylor issues mea culpa on Twitter after being approached by Guardian

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/aug/28/trump-tweets-hoax-louise...

Now there is an important general principle regularly ignored here and elsewhere. It matters little who the leaker is of any SUBSTANTIVE material which is valid and stands on its own, contrary the current habit to redirect attention and vilify any messenger when anything one doesn't like is exposed.

However, what in NR's repost here is alleged to be significant is a constructed backstory by the anonymous writer, "leaker", or agency, with zero evidence, including the unverified contention that the rather pedestrian meeting of political operatives in  Ecuador was, without any evidence, found (by somebody) in a London Ecuador Embassy filed under "Wikileaks".

The bias reinforced in the article by a writer who puts "whistleblower" in scare quotes when discussing Snowden, along with other factual misrepresentations.

I doubt North Report's fraudulent posts will ever receive the moderator warning to "stop posting propaganda" visited on another poster.

But the sources familiar with the probe say that such a rapid conclusion is — as one put it — “fanciful.” Mueller and his team, they say, are pursuing new leads, interrogating new witnesses and collecting a mountain of new evidence, including subpoenaed bank records and thousands of emails from the campaign and the Trump transition.

In just the last few weeks, his prosecutors have begun questioning Republican National Committee staffers about the party digital operation that worked with the Trump campaign to target voters in key swing states. They are seeking to determine if the joint effort was related to the activities of Russian trolls and bots aimed at influencing the American electorate, according to two of the sources.

If you added a "wink, wink" to your "eh"  and another "!" , your rational argument would be perfect.

It's understandable that you who can only post in the most simplistic, tribalistic "us" or "them", would come to the defense of vile Mensch based solely on the fact that some Republican wretches don't like her--and ignore the many mainstream sources that dismantle her fact-free conspiracy theories.

For you, it's so much easier not to ever have look at what someone like Mench actually says and represents. That might actually require critical thought.

Mensch includes in her conspiracy theory the "Russian Agents" Bernie Sanders (and, of course, Jill Stein) -- no problem for NorthReport.
Mensch:

Fusion GPS founders: The Steele Dossier is a lot more important than you may think

The founders of the research firm Fusion GPS discuss why they hired Christopher Steele and what he discovered

The former journalists who founded the research firm Fusion GPS — which hired British intelligence officer Christopher Steele to investigate potential collusion between Donald Trump and the Russian government — are defending their work against Republican attacks.

"Republicans have refused to release full transcripts of our firm’s testimony, even as they selectively leak details to media outlets on the far right. It’s time to share what our company told investigators," explained Glenn R. Simpson and Peter Fritsch in an op-ed in The New York Times.

After describing how Trump, congressional Republicans and conservative media outlets had all tried to discredit their work, Simpson and Fritsch pointed out that "our sources said the dossier was taken so seriously because it corroborated reports the bureau [FBI] had received from other sources, including one inside the Trump camp."

Mueller’s team is less interested in the meeting as a direct example of collusion, the sources said, although Trump Jr. accepted the meeting after being told he would receive incriminating information about Hillary Clinton as part of the Russian government effort to help his father.

No evidence has emerged publicly to contradict Veselnitskaya’s account that she wanted to press a case about U.S. Magnitsky Act sanctions, and that she did not possess significant derogatory information about Clinton, despite the email from a music promoter to Trump Jr. promising incriminating details about the Democrat.
