With the rise of Trump/Ford nationalism, it's a very nasty political climate.Trump represents American nationalism, I assume, but what type of nationalism does Ford represent?
I'd say Ford represents "Nostalgia Nationalism". He fights for the nation of the past-the imagined Utopia of low taxes, patriarchy and social repression that his followers see as "the good old days"-never mind that those days never really existed and weren't good for much of anyone but bazillionaires.

I think that's a pretty stretched usage of the word "nation" there. You could just as easily use the phrase "kingdom of the past", and say that Ford is a monarchist.
In Notes On Nationalism, Orwell uses "nationalism" to include things like political Catholicsm and Trotskyism, but even there, he confines it to distinct groups to which people give allegiance.

I have read enough posts, in this and other threads, to come to a hypothesis about gadar's recent string of relatively outrageous posts. He/she has decided that they've had all of North Report that they can stand, and they're going to create an even more annoying and extreme version of N.R.'s posting style.
Addressing these posts as if they were seriously meant in their overt form would be a mistake. Instead, just read them and chuckle in awe at the amazing parody of a parody.

That's too bad but contributing to the problem by being the same thing is also not a solution and it really is not respectful to yourself to behave like something you dislike just to prove a point -- at least for any period of time. Becuase then that is what you become. While some say responding to the trolls contributes to the problem it is not more annoying than becoming one and at least the objection is still there. I doubt that it is less work either.
