Ft. McMurray could be a good test of whether Trudeau's decision to nationalize TMX will help Notley at all. Also if there is also any bad blood left on Brian Jean's side of the UCP merger from Kenney's leadership victory.

These byelections are today and according to one Edmonton columnist, at least, Ft. McMurray-Conklin "could be a toss-up" between the UCP and the NDP. Riding was previously held by Wildrose leader Brian Jean, who resigned after losing the UCP to Jason Kenney, and the NDP is running three-term Wood-Buffalo councillor Jane Stroud.
