A Dive Into Washington's Swamp
"...There was no 'Russian interference' in the US election. All that Mueller found in one year of investigations was some minor misbehavior by some Trump aides and a Russian internet marketing company which tried to sell advertisers on its click-bait websites.
The real collusion happened between the Trump family and Israel, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Huge sums from Zionist interests and from the oil dictatorships flew into campaign funds and the relevant pockets. One of their main aims was and is to initiate war against Iran."
LOL. Every time the Russian trolls proclaim the investigation over, it’s a sign some new development on the scandal is about to break.

Are you really calling NDPP a Russian troll? And if so, do you actually believe that? If not, why are you saying it?
It's true! But it's worse than that. I'm also a Palestinian troll, an anti-Zionist troll, a Venezuelan troll, a Libyan troll, a Syrian troll, an Iranian troll, an Afghan troll, a North Korean troll, a WikiLeaks troll, a Mohawk troll, a Secwepemc troll, an Innu troll, an anti-imperialist troll, a free speech troll, an anti police-state troll, an environmental troll, an alternative media troll, etc etc...

WASHINGTON ― Candidate Donald Trump bragged that he could shoot someone on New York’s Fifth Avenue and not lose any support, and now President Donald Trump’s lawyer says Trump could shoot the FBI director in the Oval Office and still not be prosecuted for it.
“In no case can he be subpoenaed or indicted,” Rudy Giuliani told HuffPost Sunday, claiming a president’s constitutional powers are that broad. “I don’t know how you can indict while he’s in office. No matter what it is.”
Giuliani said impeachment was the initial remedy for a president’s illegal behavior ― even in the extreme hypothetical case of Trump having shot former FBI Director James Comey to end the Russia investigation rather than just firing him.
“If he shot James Comey, he’d be impeached the next day,” Giuliani said. “Impeach him, and then you can do whatever you want to do to him.”
“If a president does it, it’s not illegal.”

Trump today said he was ging to withhold aid from countries sending illgal migrants (read refugees).
This is quite the statement since it indicates that he believes in a conspiracy where there are coutnries sending perople pretending to be desperate to show up as refugees. This is a whole order of hatred and paranoia beyond the standard fare we have been getting. He has also used the word invasion. If you put the two together and consider Trump believes that his country is being invaded on purpose by other countries sending refugees, you can understand the deep psychological hole he has fallen into.
From here it is not as drastic a leap to what could be considered inconceivable as the leap that brought us to the point we are at now.

Trump Signed Secret Pledge To Safeguard Israeli Nukes - Report

"US President Donald Trump has reportedly signed a secret letter pledging not to strong-arm the Jewish state into relinquishing its nuclear weapons. The US president's backing came after Irael's ambassador to the US reportedly pressured the administration last year, raising the ire of American officials."
Of course Trump was compelled by Putin to do so...
With evident fatigue, the baker reported, “One had no time to think. There was so much going on.” His account was similar to that of one of Mayer’s colleagues, a German philologist in the country at the time, who emphasized the devastatingly incremental nature of the descent into tyranny and said that “we had no time to think about these dreadful things that were growing, little by little, all around us.” The philologist pointed to a regime bent on diverting its people through endless dramas (often involving real or imagined enemies), and “the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise.”

George Will, long time conservative Republican pundit, abandons the Republican Party.
Amid the carnage of Republican misrule in Washington, there is this glimmer of good news: The family-shredding policy along the southern border, the most telegenic recent example of misrule, clarified something. Occurring less than 140 days before elections that can reshape Congress, the policy has given independents and temperate Republicans...respectively — fresh if redundant evidence for the principle by which they should vote.
The principle: The congressional Republican caucuses must be substantially reduced. So substantially that their remnants, reduced to minorities, will be stripped of the Constitution’s Article I powers that they have been too invertebrate to use against the current wielder of Article II powers.
...Ryan and many other Republicans have become the president’s poodles, not because James Madison’s system has failed but because today’s abject careerists have failed to be worthy of it.
...By leaving dormant the powers inherent in their institution, they vitiate the Constitution’s vital principle: the separation of powers.
...In today’s GOP, which is the president’s plaything, he is the mainstream. So, to vote against his party’s cowering congressional caucuses is to affirm the nation’s honor while quarantining him.
George Will has been a conservative columnist for as long as I can remember. For him to publicly call for people to vote Democrat would have been unbelieveable 5 years ago. What's happening now is the Republican Party is being torn apart, and with some luck, the Democrats will take control of the House, and perhaps the Senate, this November. If that happened, I think Trump would die in an apoplectic fit.
"If you ignore America's dopey culture wars and look at the actual behavior of its actual government over time, you see remarkable consistency along the same trajectory, regardless of who's in office. Most people see this but still get sucked into the drama of the side shows."

The 'leftist rage' will play right into Trump's hands as the Hippies did for R. M. Nixon. Nothing could be better for Trump than the pickle-up-his-ass George Will endorsing the Democrats. More elitists. Democratic Party going way left as under McGovern, which means a Republican landslide.

I really dislike George F. Will, but the idea that his endorsement is a political kiss-of-death isn't really borne out by the history. He was a big champion of Reaganism right from the get go, and that didn't seem to hurt the Gipper much at all.

Spiro Agnew's estate should sue RT for plagiarism.
I'll also note that they are no longer just criticizing "leftists" for saying that Russia helped Trump get elected, they now just seem to be criticizing them for opposing Trump, full stop.

There was no question of elitism in the Reagan campaigns as there is now. It was not the same political environment at all. George F. Will will simply be seen as a traitor and a Democratic elitist. His endorsement of the Democrats will only drive more people to Trump. These idiots have no idea how the modern dynamic works, because they insist on keeping their heads up the ass of the Marxist-anti-Marxist left-right political spectrum. I've got some ideas how you could take Trump down, but no one cares what I say because their own ideas are much more important, and they would not want to take one of my ideas as it would have come from somewhere else. And political ideas that might work are extremely expensive, and none of you have what that would entail.
Let them do the best with their ideas. Let mediocrity reign! I have decided IDGAF about any of this American political shit, because it really makes no difference what I do, except in the lives of the human beings that I actively try to help on a very regular basis.
I will however reserve my right to insert useless political commentary which benefits nobody at all, as this seems to be a popular sport on this website.
On the other hand, Trump remains a misogynist asshole, and we should not lose sight of that.

Really? Care to elaborate?

Yes, josh. Give me one example where Reagan railed against 'elites'.

The Trump-Putin, Peace, Trade and Friendship Meeting
https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/07/06/the-trump-putin-peace-trade-and-...
"...Trump is the most erratic president the US has ever known. He ricochets from malevolent tweeting to spiteful speeches, and is now distrusted by almost every foreign leader of stature. It is difficult to disagree with the opinion of the commentator Robert Reich that he is a 'selfish, thin-skinned, petulant, lying, narcissistic, boastful megalomaniac.'
But - and it is a very big 'but' - at the moment he presents the best and perhaps only chance for rapprochement and amity with Russia. The fact that Washington's warmongers so violently oppose him for the coming talks wiht President Putin is evidence enough that he is on the right track. Let's hope that he can be kept on the rails that lead to peace, trade and friendship."
Quoting counterpunch:
" Let's hope that he can be kept on the rails that lead to peace, trade and friendship."
I have a question. Why do you suppose that Trump singles out Russia for peace, trade and friendship while alienating all of the U.S.'s traditional allies with illegal tariffs and insulting tweets? Could it be that he is, and has been for many years, owned by the Russian mafia/oligarchy, and must do as they wish? Or is it just that he is so committed to peace, trade and friendship in general, despite all of his other behaviour?

Moriarty:
You might find the following book to be of interest. I read it a couple of months back...
From what I recall, there doesn't seem to be any one specific deciding factor determining Trump's affinity for Russia, it just seems to be a number of things that came together to make that a reality. On Trump's side, he was trying to do business in Russia, and making social connections to that end, including trying to hook up with Putin, but it doesn't quite seem to have been a case of Russian mobsters or oligarchs telling him he needs to do what they say or else.
And Trump had been anti-NATO and anti-allies since at least the 80s, in that cranky isolationist "Why should we be so nice helping to protect the world when they don't do anything for us?" sort of way. It's pretty obvious that the Russians would like someone with those views in the White House, even if his reasons for disliking the alliances are different from theirs.
Well, I haven't read the book by Isikoff and Corn, but I have read a number of detailed articles about Trump's long history with dirty Russian money. One good example was in The New Republic a year ago. Do I & C not report on the events in the article?

Washington would unleash punishing trade measures and withdraw crucial military aid
How can the business about withdrawing military aid be a threat if, as sites like informationclearinghouse are constantly telling us, American military "aid" is being forced on an unwilling world to begin with?
It would be like simulataneously complaining that your doctor is forcing you against your will to take harmful medication, and also that he's threatening to stop giving you the medication unless you pay him a bribe.
It's a NYT article actually, as is clearly indicated in the end credits. ICH draws upon and republishes from a variety of sources.
