Host nations get a bye into the World Cup so that means Canada is in the 2026 WorldCup

I wonder what Canadian cities will get to see Team Canada play live? My guess is that it'll be Toronto and Montreal but maybe Edmonton will also get to see them play live. That would require the team to travel a longer distance though.

Isn't there something like a refugee league, and a league of "unrecognised" nations?

Those guys should get an invitation to the Paralympics!

Listening to a couple of sports jocks on the radio this morning discussing how England is going to screw it up this time and now we have our answer What a dumb, dumb place to get a penalty which if course resulted in a tie game presently.

I was supporting Tunisia (admittedly simply because it is a neo-colonised country, and also one where some very brave progressives have resisted both the Ben Ali clan mafia and the Islamists)...

Big stupid waste of money! It would be better spent on many other programs.

For me no more!

No more Portuguese flag in the window! No more wasting my time watching games!

I've noticed that in my neighbourhood, Brazil jerseys can be turned inside out to become Portugal jerseys, and vice versa.

Argentina are still in. They seemed on their way out, and were really underperforming.

For all you Canadian fans out there wondering which Canadian cities will host a game let me remind you of what happened the last time Canada hosted an international junior soccer tournament. Canadian organizers figured that Toronto would be a great place to host the games  but then had to move all the home games from Toronto to Winnipeg so that the Canadian players could enjoy the home-field advantage.

Soccer is not big in North America like it is around the world. There were few Canadian fans interested in cheering on the home team but there were  tons of fans locally who all came out in force to cheer on their country of origin.

I think that Toronto or Montreal would be good for most international games, but I think that all the Canadian games should be played in the Maritimes, Newfoundland, northern Ontario like T-Bay, northern BC like PG or PR, or on the prairies.

Saskatoon or Regina would be best IMO.

Winnipeg's hosting of the Women's FIFA games was excellent. I was sad to see our city off the list for the FIFA World Cup winning bid.

As for these current games, I really had hoped to save enough to go to some of these games but alas, impossible. As for my pool, I was in second and third for a good part of it but out of the winnings now that Brazil, Spain, Germany, Uruguay and Argentina are out.
