He would face arrest by British authorities and possible extradition to the US, where he could face life imprisonment or execution on espionage charges. CNN said that 'multiple sources with knowledge' of Assange's 'unusually bad' situation warned that he could be removed from the embassy 'any day now'..."

US Democratic Senators Demand Eviction of Julian Assange From Ecuador's Embassy
https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2018/06/28/assa-j28.html
"Ten Democratic Party senators have issued a reprehensible call for the Trump administration to demand that the Ecuadorian government renege on the political asylum it provided WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange six years ago and evict him from its London embassy. He would then be detained by British police, while US agencies filed extradition warrants.
The letter of the senators was addressed to Vice President Mike Pence, ahead of his visit to Ecuador today and top-level talks with the small country's president, Lenin Moreno. The signatories are a roll-call of leading congressional Democrats. The letter declares: 'It is imperative that you raise US concerns with President Moreno about Ecuador's continued support for Mr Assange at a time when WikiLeaks continues its efforts to undermine democratic processes globally...'
A large number of self-styled 'left' and 'liberal' media publications, political organizations, and individuals have seized upon the claims of the US intelligence agencies and the Democratic Party to justify abandoning any defence of Assange, WikiLeaks and freedom of speech. They have joined with the US state and now label Julian Assange as a 'Russian agent', 'a known Kremlin asset,' or as one particularly foul individual stated, 'Putin's bitch'.
All those who repeat this slander of Assange, or who remain silent as it is ramped up are assisting the US state apparatus in a far-reaching and ominous assault on fundamental democratic rights."

Isn't that just because wikileaks only publishes the original documents themselves, without claiming to analyze the contents or make extrapolations?
If I find some old lecture-notes of Einstein's, and publish them under the heading "Einstein's lecture notes from a physics class at Princeton University", that is quite likely to be a true statement, as far as it goes.
But if I then say "See, I'm a better science journalist than those guys at Scientific American, because they sometimes make mistakes when disucssing Einstein and his theories", well, I think we can all see what's wrong with that comparison.
"Big Win for Julian Assange as the Inter-American Court of Human Rights finds right to seek asylum in embassies and that states must give safe passage to embassy asylees."
But did they stop short of promising Wi-Fi?
"Big Win for Julian Assange as the Inter-American Court of Human Rights finds right to seek asylum in embassies and that states must give safe passage to embassy asylees."
Does this decision bind the UK to give Assange safe passage if and when he leaves the Ecuadoran embassy? Because going by the name of the organization, I'm speculating that the Inter-American Court of Human Rights doesn't have jurisdiction across the Atlantic.
I'm sure the court has canvassed all the relevant law pertaining to the question posed by Ecuador. But it's an advisory opinion not a judgement with an enforcement mechanism. Earlier a ruling handed down by a UN tribunal instructing that UK actions were illegal has simply been ignored. So given the outrages already perpetrated in this case it is quite obvious international law is absolutely irrelevant, of no effect and can be trashed at every turn. Might makes right stands a far better chance of prevailing I'd say, no matter what the advisory judgement says. And the brainwashed stupidos who believe whatever they read in the Guardian will cheer it all on too.
Isn't that just because wikileaks only publishes the original documents themselves, without claiming to analyze the contents or make extrapolations?
And they choose what they want to publish. Or not publish.
And they choose what they want to publish. Or not publish.
So, like the infamous "MSM".

http://emma.best/2018/07/20/a-note-on-the-manafort-texts/
This cache of Manafort texts (links at the bottom) is made up of more than 285,000 SMS messages and iMessages (over 7,200 pages) sent and received by one of Paul Manafort’s daughters. Several years ago, the phone was hacked and a database of the messages became available in certain circles. Some outlets have previously reported on some of these messages, such as ones implicating Paul Manafort in the commission of murders, but other messages have gone largely overlooked. This is largely due to one thing:
The public haven’t had access to the messages, and the press haven’t had access to an easily searchable version – instead only to an unwieldy database.
This was nearly not the case, however – WikiLeaks had a copy of the database, but ultimately didn’t publish it, despite its newsworthiness and their willingness to publish unredacted information on the Democrats. Their unexplained decision not to put the database into a searchable format and make it public struck me as questionable at the time, but in light of the disclosure of their preference for the GOP it has become not only questionable, but hypocritical.
Ecuador To Hand Over Assange to UK 'In Coming Weeks or Days', Own Sources Tell RT
"The above report that UK and Ecuador are preparing to turn Assange over to UK appears to be true. Big question is whether the US will indict him & seek his extradition, the way Sessions and Pompeo vowed they would. Can't wait to see how many fake press freedom defenders support that." - Glenn Greenwald.
Possible Hand-Over of Julian Assange to the UK May Be Imminent
"...The failure on the part of the establishment media to defend Julian Assange, who has been trapped in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London since 2012, has been denied communcations with the outside world since March, and appears to be facing imminent expulsion and arrest, is astonishing. The extradition of this publisher - the maniacal goal of the US government - would set a legal precedent that would criminalize any journalistic oversight or investigation of the corporate state. It would turn leakers and whistleblowing into treason. It would shroud in total secrecy the actions of the ruling, global elites.
As described by Hedges, the Western legacy press has become analgous to the attack dogs of the establishment, especially since the 2016 US Presidential election cycle, becoming almost rabid following the loss of Clinton to Trump. Their predatory focus on Assange - as opposed to the right to publish as a journalist - has astounded many and forced the public to reconcile with the true face of the media as state-sanctioned propaganda.
All legitimate press across the globe must advocate for a politically imprisoned journalist to be protected by the rule of international law which has found his confinement to be illegal, deserving of immediate cessation and recompense..."

Ecuador President To Hand Assange Over to UK During London Visit - Greenwald
"The Ecuadorian leader is also expected to use his trip to the British Isles to 'finalize an agreement under which Ecuador will withdraw its asylum protection of Julian Assange. I don't believe that Assange should be prosecuted for anything that Wikilieaks revealed, even if his journalistic ethics are highly questionable, which I think they are. I agree with Greenwald that freedom of the press to reveal the bad behaviour of governments is fundamental to any sort of democracy, and must be defended, whether we're talking about Julian Assange or Seymour Hersh. I don't read or listen to Canadian pundits very much. Are most of them supporting the prosecution of Assange?

I disagree with your contemptuous tone toward Snowden, who it seems to me was a genuine whistleblower in the original sense, ie. exposing specific governmental wrongdoing.
Not crazy about his Russian protectors, but he really didn't have very many options about where to go after he went on the run.
And FWIW, I don't think Trump will do anything to protect Assange.
