Xi Jin Ping 习近平

I feel that this politician deserves his own thread! After all, he's the best diplomat/politician of the 21st century in the world! If Trump can have 12 threads here on babble (just a guess) Xi Jin Ping can at least have one.

This guy has spoken up for promoting Atheism, science and income equality! He has promoted peace and infrastructure development too many times to count!

While Trump is blabing away incoherently and Justin is now pretending he went to the Thomas Mulcair school for robot politicians (don't believe me? Watch how he moves and talks now in his speeches), Xi Jin Ping is getting 21 gun salutes and military escorts in his most recent visit to the UAE!

Let us celebrate the 2000 people who are executed by capital punishment in China every year. Let us celebrate the thousands of slaves in Chinese forced labour camps making products we buy in dollar stores.

Why not? Seems an obvious thread to create. Surprised NR didn't beat you to it WWWTT!

That would be the same UAE that is Saudi Arabia's junior-partner in prosecuting the Yemeni Civil War, an excursion widely denounced among anti-imperialists as a vicious bloodbath?

I get it that world leaders can't feasibly restrict their overseas visits to progressive nations, and that they can expect to get the usual welcome when they show up. Why there should be any particular point of pride in getting such accolades from the UAE, however, is beyond me.

WWWTT

I understand your point votd!

However Xi Jin Ping is a huge voice for socialism and world peace. I would rather see someone as himself be respected in the ME.

Xi Jin Ping is in the better position to get the results that you are looking for! Is there someone in the west that did better? I'm listening.

There's also the "NDP BC Premier John Horgan Is the Real Deal and Shows His Leadership Skills" thread!

Who'll be the first to complete their statue?

Whose statue will be BIGGER??

a huge voice for socialism?  Yeah, right-it's DEEPLY socialist to let millionaires and billionaires join the Chinese "Communist" Party, and to arrest people for advocating non-repressive alternatives to what his own supporters call "market Stalinism".

The world needs socialism.  It never needs dictatorships.

WWWTT

Actually Ken Burch the term you’re looking for is “socialist modernization”

and the CPC has 90M members! Any Chinese person 18 and up can join and participate in their government.

But it sounds like you prefer a system where any yahoo with a gun, starts drinking beer at 6am, hates anybody the media tells them hate, believes in god, and only votes when they get angry will somehow produce miraculous progressive politicians.

Sorry to get too real Ken, but I got some bad news for you, the American version of Xi Jin Ping is never coming

Maybe that's why Canada keeps it secret?

Isn't that just 6% of China's population?

NDPP

6%'s not too shabby. By comparison the NDP has 0.3%

To be fair, being a member of the NDP won't do much for one's career.

One's career prospects might improve from not being a member! How many of Canada's elite are NDP'ers?

The NDP are also not Canada's permanent governing party.

Mr. Magoo

Oooo.  I'll take counterpoint:  The NDP actually NEEDS members in order to get ELECTED.

Meanwhile, is the comment box gunged up for anyone else?  On this thread it appears at the top of the page, mixed up with posts.
TBH, I'm not even sure this post will work.

I can't help wondering if the Chinese characters in the thread title are why.  If I'm not mistaken, they translate to "My Big Hero Man".

Roughly I believe you're right, 6%.

From that pool of 6% of China's population, they actively participate in all aspects of the government and the party can draw from for leadership input and creativity moving forward and to resolve issues. Evolving progressing and adapting.

This gives China their own unique version of socialism and guarantees new leaders will only be as good as Xi Jin Ping

I'm delighted your new thread irritates the rednecks WWWTT.  Enjoy the ride...

Does that include women, and how appropriately are they represented?

Better or worse than those countries you believe have a lot to learn from China?

Did Trudeau do better than Xi Jin Ping, or worse, with regard to parity?

In Canada would you be happy letting an elite group of 6% of the population, that you are not a part of, rule the country? Maybe China will be the most successful state in the future and show the world that states are best off allowing a small elite group of "superiors" run a collectivist society? Time will tell if liberal constitutional democracies will be superceded by such a system or another system. Personally I prefer the social democratic systems used in places like Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. Maybe the relatively impoverished situation China currently finds itself in precludes it from establishing a social democratic system until it can reach greater affluence?

WWWTT

Xi Jin Ping is now in Africa visiting four different countries. Again, lots of jubilient people in the streets waving Chinese flags and dancing.

But is he as popular as David Eby is in B.C.?

i think the answers you’re looking for are here

https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/SG.GEN.PARL.ZS

But as far as appointment and qualifications for political promotion in China, from how I understand, a candidate must has served already in various leadership positions to be considered.

But these rules apply to everyone equally. Candidates can’t be parachuted in. For example, Trump obama and JT would never be heads of state with the high set for candidates in China

Here’s another link to help explain what I’m describing
https://www.quora.com/How-are-government-officials-elected-in-China

And another link
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2017-10/01/content_32712243.htm

From the research I’ve done it looks like that China overall isn’t doing enough for female equality. I summarized three faults, only one quarter of members are women, strick rule of promotion and old cultural influence within politics

WWWTT

I found it odd that this country was on the Xi JinPing's list to visit?

https://gbtimes.com/chinese-president-xi-jinping-arrives-in-mauritius-fo...

Never even heard of this small nation Mauritius before so I did a search.

I guess the country is on the way back to China so why not stop by and strengthen relations?
