Russian Defense Minister: Israel Bears Full Responsibility For Downing of IL-20 Off Syrian Coast

https://southfront.org/russian-defense-minister-israel-bears-full-respon...

"Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu officially stated that Israel bears full responsibility for the downing of a Russian IL-20 plane off the Syrian coast because its actions had led to this situation.

'The blame for the downing of the Russian plane and the death of its crew members lies squarely on the Israeli side,' Shoigu said during a conversation with Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on the phone. 'The actions of the Israeli military were not in keeping with the spirit of the Russian-Israeli partnership, so we reserve the right to respond.'

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry revealed that Israeli warplanes used the IL-20 to hide from Syrian air defense fire during the Sept 17 strike on targets in the war-torn country. 'By using the Russian plane as a cover the Israeli pilots made it vulnerable to Syrian air defense fire. As a result, the Ilyushin-20, its reflective surface being greater than that of an F-16, was downed by a missile launched with the S-200 system,' Konashenkov said."

There’s more to this than meets the eye. Syria shouldn’t have been shooting SA200 missiles all over the place that weren’t guided by ground radar and were relying on their onboard sensors to find a target.  But don't let that stop you from blaming everybody but Syria.

The obvious solution was S-300 coverage and no fly zone long before now. For that I blame Putin and a 5th column unduly influenced by USrael.

I disagree; Russia is being smart in not giving Syria one of their most advanced air defense systems. If they do that Israel, NATO and the US would get one of the greatest training aids in figuring out how to defeat the system. And before you start ALL air defense systems can be defeated or degraded if only for enough time for your aircraft to get in and out: it just takes practice, time and exposure to it. That would include any systems crewed by Russians as well... they only use the SA300 radar systems deployed in Syria on a limited basis because the more you broadcast your radar and targeting signals the more your opponents can study it (think about it).

The truth is Syria isn't worth Russia showing one of its more advanced air defense hands (too much).

NDPP

OK, sounds logical. You've convinced me Bec. Caw! Of course that doesn't explain why they would then turn around and sell their more advanced S-400 system to NATO's Turkey, does it?

With all the controversy over Trump withdrawing from Syria, I really wish even one commentator would ask the obvious question: "When the hell did we invade Syria?" Obama moved America into the conflict so stealthily that it went from "Assad's a vicious tyrant bombing his own people, we're not involved" to "Okay, some of our allies are arming the peaceful democracy-loving rebels" to "Obviously we're arming the good rebels" to "We may occasionally be bombing ISIS across the border" to "We've always had troops on the ground" without anybody noticing. So it begins!

The US is pulling out of Syria for good reason, China is there fighting Islamic extemists!

China, from my understanding (focus from Chinese media) is super pissed off with Islamic extemism in middle eastern countries, and the spillover to the western province regions in China.

I suspect the middle east training of Islamic extremism is going to become China's #1 enemy! Just like the imperialist French/US was during the 1950-s to 1970's in Vietnam/South East Asia! We all know how that one ended.

When I was in China, I personally viewed a lot of anti Israel news in the Chinese media! To me, it's clear that China has just about had enough of Israel.

Expect absolutely shit zero from western corporate news media about this NDPP! The influence of the super anti imperialist power China will be ignored in hopes of going away.

The secret to ending the strength of ISIS in Syria is not the continued presence of the American troops. it is for America's ever closer allies in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf to cut off the major arteries of money and arms, which we should never forget in origin and for a long time had a strong US component.

The US/Saudi/Israeli alliance against Iran is the most important geopolitical factor in the region today. it is high time this alliance stopped both funding ISIS and pretending to fight it. Schizophrenia is not a foreign policy stance..."

Here you go.

https://thediplomat.com/2018/08/is-china-increasing-its-military-presenc...

NDPP, there's no doubt China has military forces and intelligence in Syria. It's limited and focused towards Chinese Islamic extremists in Syria that are being trained by western imperialist forces.

From above link:

The increasing threat of domestic terrorism is a significant motivator for China’s possible growing military cooperation with Syria and other states in the Middle East. An estimated 5,000 Chinese Uyghurs are currently fighting alongside the Islamic State (ISIS) and other radical groups in Syria, most of which are concentrated in Idlib. In 2017, ISIS issued its first direct threat against China, promising to shed “blood like rivers,” in an attempt to fill its ranks with Uyghurs. Threats from supposed Uyghur terrorists circulated on Chinese social media around the same time, professing that “when the Syrian War ends, that is the day when China’s biggest fear begins.” The same year, China reportedly deployed forces to Syria to assist the Syrian government’s counterterrorism operations. Now, by increasing military cooperation Beijing may be able to help address the threat in Idlib.

Edited to add that in the above link, it's mentioned that Hua Wei will be getting contracts to help Syria rebuild their telecommunication! Ya the same Hua Wei 孟晚舟is from!
