So what are the polls saying about Singh's chance of winning?
Just the one poll from over a month ago.

There aren't polls, but that very shrewd predictor Tom Mulcair is now going out on a limb and saying Jagmeet will in fact win!

What a comeback for Jagmeet! What an underdog win against all odds!

What a comeback for Jagmeet! What an underdog win against all odds!
The one and only poll had Jagmeet in a commanding lead. How can that be "an underdog win against all odds!"
Because all I've heard for the last two months from Mulcair and the establishment media is how Jagmeet's going to get turfed as leader when he loses the byelection.
Liberal talking points
(Confidential) We haven’t a chance in hell of winning so what do we do to attempt to save face
(Public) Say we want the NDP to win
Yet it was SIX NDP MPs that continually blabbed to both CTV and CBC saying that Singh was OUT if he doesn't win this by-election. Thus keeping the story alive for the last two months. So if there is anyone to blame, it is those NDP MP who are knifing Jagmeet in the back with this whisper campaign.
Who?
Who?
I'm mistaken, it wasn't six NDP MPs - it was actually NINE NDP MPs who initiated this "whisper" campaign against Jagmeet Singh

Clearly it was the establishment media pushing this story for months. That story is all unfounded speculation.
Odd that no media was ever talking about what would happen if he won. Why would they waste all their time talking about the consequences of a loss if it was such an unlikely event? Unless they were just trying to attack the NDP like they always do.
WOW Conservatives are getting desperate - they are sending out a new flyer saying the only way to save the NDP from oblivion is to vote Conservative! The thinking being a new leader will do a better job than Jagmeet. Plus increase the Conservatives chances of winning 2015 election. Higher NDP vote it splits the progressive vote to allow a Conservative MP to win in ridings all across Canada.
The Conservatives better be careful what they wish for. Between Lake of the Woods and the Pacific Ocean, even a modest increase in NDP support costs Conservative MPs their seats.

I think that should read "a modest increase in NDP support from 2015". The NDP needs a boost in support from current levels just to keep the seats it has.

Thanks to NDP MPs continually encouraging them to push the story by talking to reporters off the record. If those NDP MPs didn't create this whisper campaign, the media wouldn't have reported this in the first place.
Liberals allege Jagmeet Singh’s Facebook campaign ads violate election rules
The federal Liberal party has alleged that Facebook ads from NDP candidate Jagmeet Singh’s campaign violated the Canada Elections Act, just days before voters head to the polls in the contentious Burnaby South federal byelection.
The complaints were outlined in a letter sent to the Commissioner of Canada Elections on Friday, in which John J. Arnold, director of regulatory compliance and administration for federal Liberals, said that election ads for NDP Leader Singh’s campaign “lacked the required authorization tag” indicating that an ad had consent from a candidate or party.

Liberal turmoil, or should we say Liberal corruption, is a gift for the NDP

Don’t bother wasting your time with Mighty Middle on this. He’s here to only trumpet the icm’s message of doom and gloom for the NDP to discredit their merit as a reasonable socialist alternative.
I’ve documented outright lies published by the Toronto Star here on babble and I wouldn’t be surprised that the cbc is shoveling the same bs.
If Jag wins, the NDP will be worthy of serious consideration from voters come October. You’ll never here the icm ever write say anything remotely like this.

So you are saying the media made up these stories and used "fake" sources within the NDP to report this story?
It should be noted NOBODY (not a single NDP MP) disputed the story by the CBC & CTV that Jagmeet leadership is on the line with this by-election,
Not a single one.

Charlie Angus did. But good luck finding that reported.

Then provide the link of tweet for all of us to see.
Angus said he's never had a conversation about a plan b. His social media is now piled full of SNC Lavallin stuff. I don't have the time to dig much & don't really care about your posts anyway.

Translation you have no proof - btw very easy to do a quick search on twitter.
The prestigious polling firm of "Local Students":
There is some Twitter discussion about this poll. Apparently it was done as a project by a bunch of High School students.
they have now done an update with less startling results:
Poll conducted on February 23rd for Burnaby South. 338 polled.
NDP 41%
Liberal 32%
CPC 17%
PPC 8%
Presumably, Laura Lynn is about to make a post saying " 'Local Students' polling agency proven to be Hindu Chinese Muslim Commie Plot! PPC to win with 77% in Burnaby South!"
If you add up the numbers from the Conservatives and the People's Party, they would be ahead of the Liberals and second to Jagmeet.
Second place and $1.60 will get you a small coffee at Tim Horton’s.If you add up the numbers from the Conservatives and the People's Party, they would be ahead of the Liberals and second to Jagmeet.
So York Simcoe and Outremont have been called. Singh, on the other hand, is clearly ahead of 2 candidates who are competing for second place. But no anti-NDP media bias?
Time to call this. Singh will take a seat in Parliament.

They called it a couple of minutes ago.
My prediction is Singh #1, Laura Lynn Thompson of Bernier's People's Party #2.
There's no way that the People's Party will place second. They may crack 10%, but 2nd, no way.
I'm quite happy to have been wrong on this one.

And yet for months the general attitude was that Singh would be lucky if he managed to pull off a strong win. Nothing ambiguous.
Jag was up against a well known and experienced liberal politician.
From my memory, bi elections are always a real hard go for the NDP. So really this result can’t be used against Jag.
Mainstreet poll released six weeks ago nailed it:
