No surprise to see 'Mr Fix-it', Frank Iacobucci representing SNC Lavalin either. If it's a big corporate pie, or a problem for/with Ottawa, you are likely to find Frank hard at work. At top dollar too...

Talk about having the gall to stand up and tell Canadians these kind of bold faced lies over and over again acting as if there are no consequences for this kind of inappropriate behaviour. But remember if the Liberals lose the next election to the Conservatives apart from blaming the Liberals for their once again scandalous behaviour you might want to also consider blaming the people some of whom post here on a regular basis who spend their lifetimes trashing a reasonable alternative to the Liberals Go figure!

One hundred law professors have written against the bill.[39] Over 150 Canadian business leaders and followers signed an open letter to the government condemning bill C-51, circulated by OpenMedia.ca.

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke sent an open letter against the bill writing: "We feel that Bill C-51, in its current state, could potentially and perhaps even predictably be used to future oppress our defense of our Aboriginal rights and Title."....

On February 19, 2015, a joint statement was published and signed by four former prime ministers: Jean ChrétienPaul MartinJoe Clark, and John Turner. Eighteen others signed the statement, including five former Supreme Court justices, seven former Liberal solicitors general and ministers of justice, three past members of the intelligence review committee, two former privacy commissioners and a retired RCMP watchdog.[55][56] The statement calls for stronger security oversight, as "serious human rights abuses can occur in the name of maintaining national security".

Bill C-51 passed in June of 2015.  The Trudeau Liberals supported the bill. In October they were elected with a majority.

This is damaging for Trudeau but by no means a death knell. As long as he isn't arrested it will go away before next October.

NDPP

Of course he won't be arrested as the criminals themselves are in control of the 'just-us' processes despite the fond 'rule of law' notions otherwise.

One imagines she'll be getting a pretty frosty reception at the next wine-and-cheese, however.

LOL! I think you better get the moderator involved. You are right, one thread should clean everything up.

The interesting thing for me is that this is how government works. It's the same approach as Trans Mountain. The decision is "yes" now how do we get there. It is always, what regulations/conditions have to be in place for it to go through. It was also Harper's approach to Duffy.

Chiefs of staff etc. seem to be there specifically to allow PMs to do things they shouldn't be doing.
