Has anyone heard a clear explanation from JWR as to why she resigned from Veteran Affairs? All I've seen is the letter she issued at the time, which doesn't appear to offer a reason.

I would presume it's to help Trudeau. When Butts resigned, he wrote: "Any accusation that I or the staff put pressure on the Attorney General is simply not true." So he didn't actually say that Trudeau didn't put pressure. But his statement is still very much in contradiction with JWR's testimony of continuous pressure by several individuals. If he backtracks on that, his credibility is gone.
Anyway, isn't he Trudeau's chum from way back?

Wilson-Raybould has PM aspirations but will the Liberals ever welcome her back after this? Maybe she would be better off seeking the NDP leadership when that becomes available.

Well, I dunno. It might depend how many people in Granville voted Liberal because they liked Wilson-Raybauld, and how many voted Liberal because they wanted a Liberal governent.
If you voted Liberal because you wanted a Liberal government, then it is NOT in your interest for Wilson-Raybauld to be widely viewed as the one telling the truth in this situation. Because if her version of the events becomes the generally accepted one, it might make people across the country less likely to vote Liberal.
If Karl Nerenberg is right, that Andrew Sheer and the Conservatives are benfiting the most from the scandal, it is incumbent on the NDP and other progressive interests to make sure the public knows that Stephen Haprer did the exact same thing while in power (Nerenberg gives one example in his article).
If the left doesn't do its due diligence by demonstrating to Canadians that the Conservatives and Liberals are cut from the same backroom-dealing cloth, then we will be facing a Conservative majority after the October election. We need to call out Conservative BS, tout de suite.

Fist off the article by Karl Nurenberg. In my opinion, Karl is a terrible writer. And his latest example is the worst! If he continues, I will consider not supporting rabble anymore.
Karl is more than happy to prove he’s a willing obedient servant of the icm. If he’s the main federal political writer for rabble, then by default, rabble is nothing more than another eager recruit of the icm.
Here’s my advice, take what Karl writes, and toss it. Then ignore the imperialist corporate media of Canada. In other words, shut the f’n tv off! Finally, do a search for your local NDP riding association and get in contact with the executive members and ask to be put on their mailing list and don’t forget to ask if you can attend their next executive meetings.
Seems quite clear to me: JWR and her ministry decided that SNC should face due process for their crimes and that decision was made. Trudeau et al muscled her to reverse this position. She refused and was shuffled out of office. Yes-man Lametti was brought in to do what she would not. With indecent haste he did so. The rest is history. It's clearly obstruction of justice and outrageously so. Trudeau cannot possibly continue and if there is an iota of honour in the man, the office or the parliamentary process he must resign.

(b) for the purposes of disclosure to the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights and to the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner by the former Attorney General, and any persons who directly participated in discussions with her, waives, to the extent they apply, solicitor-client privilege and any other relevant duty of confidentiality to the Government of Canada in regards to any information or communications in relation to the exercise of the authority of the Attorney General under the Director of Public Prosecutions Act that were directly discussed with the former Attorney General respecting the prosecution of SNC-Lavalin while she held that office.
However, in order to uphold the integrity of any criminal or civil proceedings, this authorization and waiver does not extend to any information or communications between the former Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions concerning SNC-Lavalin.

I listened very carefully. She never explained, not once, why she resigned when she did - and that is all about her own reasons, absolutely nothing to do with solicitor-client confidentiality, not even cabinet confidentiality.
I simply asked if anyone knew the answer to this question. Why did she stay on in cabinet for months after being treated like shit and being pressured to obstruct justice?
Let me add another question: Why has she not quit the Liberal caucus?

SNC-Lavelin did absolutely nothing wrong. It is not a person. It cannot act. Blaming SNC-Lavelin is like blaming a computer. Computers only do what people tell them to do. 8 human criminals, wealthy executives, the ones that actually made the decision to commit bribery. Executives that tried to help Gadafi's son escape, 8 wealthy men who paid bribes, are getting off not because they were found innocent, but because their trials were delayed long enough to set them free of charges because it would be unfair to put them on trial after so long.
If the actual people who committed the crimes are not being punished I don't see why investors who had no control are being punished for what the criminals did.

Please just copy and paste the part you're referring to, which stops her from saying why she decided to resign in February. I see nothing whatsoever like that. I'm not talking about her conversations with the PM or whoever. I'm talking about her own decision to resign. Are you seriously suggesting there's some law or directive that stops her from answering that question?
