Christine Moore Says Good-Bye To Politics

NDP MP Christine Moore says she will not run for re-election in the fall.

In a release Friday, the representative for Abitibi-Temiscamingue said she will continue to advocate for progressive values, but would no longer do so as a member of Parliament.

Moore was one of the dozens of Quebec New Democrats elected in the "Orange Wave" of 2011.

She says the job is incredibly demanding and all the more so "when faced every day with the inertia and hypocrisy of old political parties."

Moore won re-election in 2015 by a margin of about 12 percentage points.

She concluded her announcement by thanking former NDP leader Jack Layton and former party president Rebecca Blaikie for bringing her into politics.

Good riddance to very bad rubbish.

Probably would have lost anyway.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Christine.

The NDP is better off without her. And yes, she would have lost anyway.

Yes, the Liberals are currently projected to pick up the Abitbi ridings on sites like 338Canada, etc.

Finally some good news regarding the number of NDP MPs not reoffering for election in the fall.

Moving on to an exciting future of making inflammatory and weakly grounded harassment allegations in the private sector, I presume.

NDP will likely be left with only 2 or 3 seats in Quebec.  But at least they’ll be first stringers.

Grab that sweet pension and run. But no, I'm sure she "wants to spend more time with her family" or whatever nonsense stock politician reason she gave for leaving.

Misfit Misfit's picture

She knows she won’t get re-elected. Yes she got her pension and she doesn’t want to run for defeat.

Her allegations were upheld by an investigation. Do you have any evidence that the investigation was faulty or are you just taking the opportunity to be misogynistic?

Yes.

Moreover,do you have any evidence that Christine Moore's allegations have any connection to what the investigator actually found, faults or not?
