Has anyone heard who candidates may (or may not) be in Montreal's western districts such as Notre Dame de Grace-Westmount, Outremont, Mount Royal, St. Laurent-Cartierville or Lasalle-Emard for 2019?

I don't think the others have determined any nominees yet. But I could be wrong.

This page has a fairly up to date list of Candidates running for the nomination (those in italics) and those who have run the nomination and so far there is not a single candidate listed for Western Montreal.
Though I assume that the list only includes people who indicate in a twitter post or media coverage that they're running.

Franklin Gertler's contesting the nomination in NDG-Westmount. I don't know who else is.OK...so what's his back story, then? And where would he be, ideologically, compared to Sanchez?

He'll be having an event next week (June 4th, 6 PM, Shaika Cafe, 5526 Sherbrooke West) to introduce himself to members in the riding. I've met him a few times, and I get the impression that he's well to the left of Sanchez, but I couldn't give you any specifics. If he puts up a campaign site, I'll link it here.

Yes, I've noticed that the NDP is behind in the number of candidates nominated compared to the other parties.
Looking through the riding lists, there are large swaths of Quebec (and other provinces) where no NDP candidates have been nominated.

The three candidates for the nomination in NDG-Westmount (Oueis Arfa, Roseline Dorcin, and Franklin Gertler) will be debating each other at the NDG-Westmount AGM on Tuesday, June 18th, at 7 PM, 4410 av. West Hill.

She's the director of Head and Hands, and contested the NDG-Westmount nomination. I'm quite happy to see her as the Outremont candidate. She's exactly the kind of community activist we need to run.
