Brexit puts the UK health care system in jeopardy as Trump made abundantly clear on his visit to the UK last week

No wonder UKers are scrambling to cancel Brexit

Whichever political party clearly supports putting a complete end to the Brexit's foolishness will be well rewarded by the UK voters.

Britain's next great Brexit mistake

A longer delay with the express purpose of calling a second referendum and/or a general election is much more attractive, because it would give time for reflection and a fundamental rethink. At some point the decision to proceed with Brexit or cancel it altogether ought to be grounded in a new and better-informed popular mandate. Nonetheless, this fixed-delay approach, even given more time, suffers from potentially lethal drawbacks.

First, the clock would still be ticking down to a no-deal exit, leaving Britain in much the same negotiating stranglehold as now. Second, the EU would have to agree to any such extension. The longer the requested delay, the more likely it would be to refuse. In any event, the EU would set conditions: Like the notorious backstop, these would further tilt the subsequent bargaining and narrow the U.K.’s options. Third, even now, the outcome of a second referendum shouldn’t be taken for granted — and, hard as this might be to believe, a general election could install a government that’s even more clueless than May’s.

That leaves a very unpalatable conclusion: The U.K. can revoke Article 50 unilaterally, and should do so while it still has the option. With or without a general election, with or without a second referendum, the country needs to get itself out from under the thumb of the EU — and its only hope of doing that is to stay, until further notice, in the EU. Believe me, I see the paradox, which gives me no joy. Also, I don’t underestimate the righteous anger of Brexit supporters if the Remain majority in Parliament finally asserts itself and votes to set aside the first referendum result. The course I’m recommending would be a brutal further setback to the standing of Parliament in the country.

But to call it a betrayal would be wrong. The betrayal has already happened — when Cameron and then May suspended their own best judgment and started guiding the country, step by bungled step, to this pitiful result, and when the Remain majority in Parliament chose to let it happen. It’s time to repent, own up to this abject failure of planning and strategy, and cut the nation’s losses.

British Government ‘Realizes’ Brexit Is a Mistake

The British government is slowly realizing that leaving the European Union is “an act of great self-harm,” according to Ireland’s top Brexit official. John Callinan, who heads a team of officials charged with co-ordinating the Irish government’s Brexit response, told a Brexit seminar organized by Irish trade unions that “I see signs in the contacts that we’re having, both at EU level and with the U.K., of a gradual realization that Brexit in many ways is an act of great self-harm, and that the focus now is on minimizing that self-harm.” He also highlighted the existence of internal divisions on the British side just weeks out from the start of formal withdrawal negotiations with the EU, saying it was clear there was “no single, settled position” on Brexit in London, adding: “Even within the British government, there are very different views.”

The Cost of a Clean Brexit

Again, there is no reason to think the EU would just say "ok, we'll go back to where we were with you" if the UK DID revoke Article 50.  And that poll shows a Remain victory would not by any standard be a sure thing.

There is no reason to put trying, and almost certainly failing to stop Brexit ahead of creating a Left alternative to the status quo and getting the Tories out of power.  There's no victory to anyone but the rich if the UK stays in the EU and there's still a Tory government.   Nothing can really be done in that situation.

No.  The NHS would only-and this is only in theory-be in play if there was a US-UK bilateral trade deal.  Even if such a deal were negotiated, it would take years, and Trump would likely be out of office by the time the agreement were finalized.  Brexit has nothing to do with that scenario.

Forming a coalition government with the Conservatives decimated the Liberal Democrats. Could Brexit bring the LD’s back from the dead? Brexit also seems to be benefiting the SNP.

Brexit ‘shambles’ has ruined UK reputation, says senior diplomat

Outgoing high commissioner in Singapore says Britain seen as divided and ‘careless of truth’

Wightman said post-referendum political risk was now overseas investors’ “principal consideration”. He likened Brexit’s impact to the fall of Singapore in 1942, the largest British surrender in history and the battle that showed the “complacency and arrogance of colonial leadership”.

“It transformed their view of British imperialism,” he added. “Things were never the same again. The last three years have done the same for Singaporeans’ view of contemporary Britain.”

He said that the UK benefited from “deep reserves of affection and goodwill” and Singapore could be expected to work constructively with the UK irrespective of Brexit. However, he said: “Whatever we may say in public about global Britain, we must not kid ourselves about the lasting damage that has been done to the UK in the eyes of Singaporeans and around the world.”

It will be a very long time before the Six Counties/Northern Ireland/Ulster (it's actually only two-thirds of the historic province of Ulster, so it should be called "Ulst") merge with the Republic.   The pro-British majority still exists, though it is slowly narrowing, and the identity of that majority is largely constructed around the delusion that, due to their religious affiliation as Protestants, they would somehow be persecuted in a Catholic-majority state.

They remain obssesed with seeing Sinn Fein and the Provisional Irish Republican Army, as well as all other "republican" groups in N.I(there, the term "republican" means pro-Irish and historically willing to use force to achieve the creation of a unified state-their opposite numbers in the pro-British community are known as Loyalists. ) be militarily defeated and forced to permanently renounce the goal of a 32-county state-even though the Good Friday process, which led to power-sharing with Sinn Fein, is the only reason "The Troubles" could be brought to an end.  The hardline Unionists of the Democratic Unionist Party and those further to their right in the Unionist community would rather see The Troubles brought back than make any compromises with the pro-Irish community at all.

Also, pro-British Northern Irish people see pro-Irish Northern Irish people-even though essentially all of them are white-as an inferior race.  They can't accept that their pro-Irish neighbors are ordinary human beings like they are and
