I actually do to but you as a brown person can say that and it is not the same as someone like North Report saying it. I would not feel comfortable saying that because I have no idea what ethnic or racial background WWWTT is behind the internet mask and I would never tell a person of colour to tone down their response to what they see as racism. In real life I would be more offended by a self righteous white person telling a deliberately rude black person responding to racism to tone down.

On TV, the intro to the CBC News Saturday morning was "There is not much going on in the campaign today. The Liberals and Conservatives are taking the day off".
The CBC News then turned to the NDP campaign with a clip of Singh: "We have a plan to fight against an economy that is rigged against young people, against everyday Canadians, that's been rigged in favour of the wealthy and powerful. "
Singh then described the NDP program involving full health care coverage that included full pharmacare coverage, full dental care coverage, full mental health care coverage, and greatly expanded addiction programs. It would also include precarious temporary and part-time workers receiving benefits and greatly expanded access to Employment Insurance, as well as a $15 minimum wage.
When questioned about how he would pay for it, he said he realized that government funds are not limitless. What gets done is a choice. He said the Liberals chose to forgive large corporations $6 billion dollars in loans, spend $4.5 billion in buying the Trans Mountain pipeline this year, and another $9 billion is aimed at tripling its carrying capacity, choices that could have been used in funding the NDP proposals instead.
Later today Singh met with a group of youth leaders to listen to how they felt about Trudeau using black- and brown-face. CBC News showed comments from two of the participants. A Black young woman said "When you're doing an apology, it's for a mistake. When you do it three times, it's not a mistake, it's a choice".
A dark-skinned Asian woman said "One of the biggest things I've been hearing over the course of the campaign is Canada is not ready for a PM who wears a turban. But somehow the same people are making a defence of a PM who is wearing one as a joke".

I'm really tired of this complaining about how unfair the media is to the NDP. To me, it's like complaining that we have to plug in our cars in Winnipeg every January. That's just the environment we live in. Yes, the media is unfair, but complaining about it isn't going to change anything. We need to simply find other ways to get our message directly to the people. If Bernie Sanders can go from zero name recognition and being derided in the press, with a narrative that Clinton was inevitable in 2016 and instead become the most popular politician in the United States, what is the NDP's excuse?

And the Conservatives actually win with that approach. As much as I disagree with them, I certainly respect that they know how to fight and get results for their side. It would be nice if the left did that as well. Bernie Sanders is the most popular politician in the United States, and I cannot think of any country in the industrailized world where progressive politics is more constrained by the Establishment than that. What excuse do we have?
