The election needs to be stopped! it is a total violation of our rights under Section 3...just listened to The Current on the climate crisis, the interview with Elizabeth May, and then with one of thee perpetrators of climate change...General Mathis, for which the interviewer just sat and listened to his bs. A total war criminal, who's wars, undisputably dwarf any other cause of climate change! CBC news documentaries in general are a total crock!
How can a self respecting Canadian have an informed vote with such bs?

Here is a link to an event I went to in Courtenay. The CBC reporter asked a nasty question that was unrelated to anything that anyone had raised. It was a type of rhetorical gotcha question one would expect from an opponent in a debate not our countries state broadcaster. Jagmeet answered it well and then she asked the same question in an even more partisan and biased manner. In the second try at the same question she deemed to ask him why the people of Canada should trust what he says. Fuck I wanted to jeer her and ride her out of town on a rail.

The question may have been nasty but Singh's answer was simply wrong. He claimed that the other parites had more money because of corporate donations. In fact there have been no corporate donations at the federal level for years. The average donation to the Conservatives, who raise the most money, was $232 in 2018. The NDP's average donation was $204. The problem for the NDP is that the Conservatives had 4 times as many donors. The Conservatives are simply better at motivating their base, who are mostly social conservatives with average incomes, to donate.
The other problem, which has been mentioned frequently in the media, is that the NDP was hit hard by the elimination of the per-vote subsidy under Harper. No mention of that either. Either Singh was ignorant or lying, neither of which is appealling.

You are right the party that represents the wealthiest part of our society, which is the corporate elite, has four times the number of donors as a party seeking to get the votes of people living pay cheque to pay cheque. I have never seen any demographic breakdown of donors to individual parties by donor income, please share your sources.
The state reporter asked a gotcha question of the party seeking to supplant the current government and you are all right with that. Your definition of journalistic standards and mine don't seem to be the same.

False dichotomy. He was reframing which is smart since the question was framed on the delusional idea that Canadians shouldn't trust the NDP with finances because of how much they are able to fundraise. He could have challenged that frame directly and pointed out that it makes zero sense but then people would have complained he was being defensive. If it had been an honest question about fundraising issues with the party then I could see your point but he was under no obligation to give that question a direct answer since it was so completely disingenious.

I didn't say that at all. I said "the question may have been nasty". I don't think it's clever or commendable for a politician to respond to questions that are considered inappropriate with falsehoods, even if it's what their supporters want to hear. Let's leave that to the right.
He could have just said that the party's fundraising issues are due to factors irrelevant to the election platform.

Canada’s corporate elites run this country. You can change the laws any which way you want but they will find ways to fund political parties so they continue to run this country
