New Conservative buzz words to base. Racist or not?

was just listening to Global National and they covered Scheer campaigning in AB.

he was giving this bs nostalgic "back to the good old days" and bring it into the future and 'dream big' speech.

he covered all the "wonderful" things the settlers of Canada did. like build railways and highways....and then he said...'honour those who came before us'.

seemed innocuous to me at first but then it wasn't sitting well. started to think; "wtf is the message here and who is he talking to".

then i realized this is the new phrasing for Harper's 'old stock' Canadians.

so then what is it they're promising to do to 'honour'?

imv it was a pretty fkn racist call to arms. not only was he talking whites have the right, he totally ignored Indigenous peoples as being already here.

it was a pretty weird stump speech at best. wish i would've been listening closer prior to the nostalgic pack.

Quiz,

When racists lash out that immigrants are not fitting in to our society the way they should and that they speak their own languages and want accommodation for their differences, racists commonly foam at the mouth that when you come to our country you learn to speak our language and you adapt to our customs. This is because ya know that if WE went to THEIR country they would not be accommodating of our ways and we would learn their language and culture and on and on.

Well, the original founders are the First Nations people and the white Europeans did not respect the languages and cultures of the original people here. So, where Andrew Scheer lives the original language he would be speaking about if he isn’t a hypocrite is Cree.

So when the racists spew their hatred to me looking for empathy I usually tell them, “thank you for sharing with me that you are so fluent in Cree.” It usually shuts them up pretty quickly because the true “old stock” Canadians are First Nations people. It is so “honourable” to have such high expectations of others and yet expect nothing of yourself.

The only way Scheer could be more racist is if he dressed up in blackface, "forgot" he did it, "forgot" how many times he did it, and finally blamed it on not knowing any better as a 29 year old educated adult from a politically savvy family.
