CPAC probably has the best coverage, as they appear to be the only neutral broadcaster in the group
Will democratic reform be brought up tonite as it has not had much of an appearance in the campaign so far?

They should all have to fight for one podium.
When Raj asks her questions, maybe Trudeau shouldn't preface his remarks tonite by saying 'I know the answer to that question'?

I'm tagging this thread and will monitor it's activity throughout the debate. I'm keenly interested in everyone's analysis.
There is no excuse for mispronouncing Jagmeet Singh’s name
Jagmeet Singh is Canada’s first non-white leader of a major political party—yet reporters are still mispronouncing his name

Will democratic reform be brought up tonite as it has not had much of an appearance in the campaign so far?
Apparently these are the topics:
This debate will focus on affordability and economic insecurity, environment and energy, Indigenous issues, leadership in Canada and on the world stage, and lastly, polarization, human rights, and immigration. Each moderator will guide a distinct section of the debate.
The debate format will allow for a question from a Canadian, followed by a question from a moderator, then a question from one leader to another, and finally, leader-to-leader debate.
McGuire said polling data and campaign issues factored into which topics were chosen. As well, she said 8,900 questions were submitted by Canadians for the leaders.

Here we go - one minute to go!
Watch live: 2019 Canadian election leaders debate
Well our moderator hosts for the debate tonight prove that just having women in places of power is meaningless if the women are neocon cheerleaders.
.
I think Singh has been doing great so far.
Trudeau is just saying the same speaking points over and over.
Yes I support the NDP but actually Singh is stealing the show and must be impressing progressive voters if not others!
best comment do far goes to Jagmeet after listening to Scheer and Trudeau list all their wrong doings.
"Here we are watching Mr Trudeau and Mr Scheer arguing about whose worse for Canada" followed by a chuckle.
Thank you Mr. Blanchette for pointing out Scheer's hypocrisy on the provincial rights issue and forcing a federal pipeline.
After two segments, Trudeau and Scheer are still the most talked-about leaders on Twitter, according to Ipsos. However, Singh has been steadily rising and he just surpassed Bernier in the volume of mentions per minute.

That was a great comment from Singh. And he really defended his platform and costing well. I can see why the Bloc is experiencing a comeback - Blanchet is very well spoken.
ya i like his voice and articulate words too laine.

Trudeau is getting whipped silly, everyone is beating him down.
Singh..."you have more choices than Mr Delay and Mr Deny" lololol

It is interesting that Scheer has stayed level.
I find that surprising. Scheer looks so fake when he speaks. Even Bernier looks more natural and luckily for all of us, he is pretty honest about his libetarian views, which I think really goes against the grain for most Canadians.
Agree with others above that Jagmeet has looked really strong this whole debate.
Singh just scored over Trudeau and Scheer squabbling over abortion: 'Men don't have any say on the abortion issue'!!!
Singh just scored huge over Trudeau and Scheersquabbling over abortion: 'Men don't have any say on the abortion issue'!!!
Yes that was perfect!
Trudeau and Scheer 2 privileged boys arguing amongst themselves is too fkn funny.

I don't think Trudeau is having a great nite - maybe it's the format, or maybe it's his mixed messages.
I think Scheer is doing very well for his base by being calm and controlled but is unlikely to gain any new voters. I think Singh is doing well and might be making an impression on undecided voters. Trudeau is just Trudeau and those who don't see through his facade will think he is doing fine but I think he lacks credibility so I am biased against anything he says. May keeps trying to claim she is the only leader who knows anything about most of the issues. I don't think she is winning over any new voters tonight.
Trudeau has always been a nervous speaker so given that, he's not as bad as he could have been. By contrast, Bernier is a smooth talker but everything he says is nonesense.
Trudeau just tried to claim the NDP is committed to building a refinery when Singh says they aren't.

Excellent analysis of the debate so far. I think Scheer amd Singh are the real winners so far.
Trudeau just tried to claim the NDP is committed to building a refinery when Singh says they aren't.
Where did he get that infromation from?
I don't get how you think Scheer is doing well. I think Singh, May and Blanchet are doing a great job of skewering him.
Where did he get that infromation from?
Granted this is a year old, but he did say this:
Singh made the case for boosting Canada's refinery capacity, but demurred when asked whether that should extend to building more pipelines here.
"It requires refineries first and foremost. I think that's the priority," said Singh, who has opposed publicly both the Trans Mountain and Energy East pipeline projects.
"Being sovereign when it comes to our oil would mean having the capacity to refine here in Canada."

I said he is doing good for his base not anyone else.
I think Greens propose a refinery.
Scheer entered into too many squabbles with Trudeau to give any truth to his pretended calm yet paternalistic voice.
OK, who are these three pundits on CBC doing the analysis of the debate?
I don't get how you think Scheer is doing well. I think Singh, May and Blanchet are doing a great job of skewering him.
Krop stated upthread that Scheer seems to be holding his base, which has essentially been the Conservative strategy for decades in many provinces and federally. The skewring may impact the perceptions of people who would never vote Conservative. I would love for the NDP to be able to crack that wall and to take votes from the Conservatives. That would cost the Conservatives many seats out West, and when the Conservatives don't have a 70-90 seat head start by default in an election campaign, the dynamic changes completely.
