Tweeting
"I was proud to work with Justin Trudeau as President. He's a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change. The world needs his progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbors to the north support him for another term."

Cue the trashing of Obama in 1,2,3.....
Cue Robert Mueller investigation of U.S. collusion and interference in Canadian election.
I've been trashing Obama since he decided to look forward rather than prosecuting war criminals, torturers, and wall street thieves. No surprise that he would support an upper class twit like Justin.
CTV News reports that since a single tweet doesn't cost any money, it can't be considered political interference
That was funny. Thanks.
My thoughts exactly. Thank you, Michael!
Is there any way we could jointly impeach Barack and Justin? Sadly, Barack no longer holds an impeachable office. Still, I think we need a serious investigation here. Robert Mueller is available. Should I start a GoFundMe campaign? Or an old-fashioned parliamentary petition?
Haha..woo...'progressives' Your self parody fills me with bliss.
How soon some forget...
"Anita Dunn, director of communication to the Obama presidential campaign, and a member of Obama's tight-knit inner circle will be a keynote speaker at the August Convention of Canada's New Democrats. 'We are thrilled that Ms Dunn will be in Halifax to share her insights of the Obama campaign's recipe for winning with party strategists and activists from across the country...With Obama's inner circle we'll be learning from the best."

The US President's role is to represent 'war criminals, torturers and wall street thieves,' not to prosecute them. Perhaps it's high time some babblers and the NDP got over their pollyanna delusions about American presidents. Even Dem ones...
The Obama Wars

I am surprised he isn't campaigning for Freeland given their common world view.
So the guy responsible for approving a whole shit load of drone strikes in the middle east murdering innocent villagers is supporting Trudeau. That's a pat on the back for sure lol
Given NDP approval of such Obama 'projects' as the war on Libya, the installation of a US coup regime in Ukraine, opposition to BDS, or backing regime change in Syria, Obama could just as easily have tweeted support for Jagmeet Singh. It would not be a groundless prediction for an NDP government to continue essentially the same servile, idiotic and pro-NATO foreign policies we have endured under Freeland/Trudeau or Harper before. Unfortunately, despite the never-ending pep rally here by Dippers - in the area of foreign affairs, NDP really does stand for a 'No Difference Party':
Open Letter to NDP re: Their Support for White Helmets Nobel Peace Prize
https://canadiandimension.com/articles/view/open-letter-to-ndp-re-their-...
Jagmeet Singh said last night that Barack Obama endorsed the "wrong" (Singh's word) progressive leader in Canada.
They all pay fealty to US imperial war criminals and actively seek their favour. But the capacity of bourgeois Canadian progressives to deny and pretend is limitless so this dirty comprador/vassal/satellite politrix will continue as usual and terminal lesser evilism our vain hope until it isn't.
Who's Putin supporting?
And what about Netanyahu?
My guess is Scheer.
Exactly. And we have at least 3 years of the Conservaives showing off their analingus skills to their masters Trump and Netanyahoo.
At least the Libs aren't sucking face with Trump. Nor has Trudeau met with Netanyahoo these last 4 years.
If Obama can help the Liberals, more power to him.
I think it was a bad move and unhelpful for the Liberals or Canada's relationship with the US.
So, he meant that Trudeau IS a progressive leader, but he's the wrong one to support? Because that's how it reads according to your paraphrase.
So what? Trump has shattered our relations as is. We're suppose to play patty cakes with him? Fuck the US. Things will be better when the Democrats take it all back in 2020,not just for us but to their 'allies' in Canada and the UK/EU
Trump's a maggot. His followers are worse.
oh so we need an American PM funded by MAGA.org who won't even stand for the Canadisn anthem as the way to improve US relations?
Well that is what Jagmeet said
What is with these posts that ignore the meaning and content of posts you are attacking? I notice that you are regularly angry and indignant against posts that actually come from the same political space you say you are from.
Exactly what part of my post said I wanted Scheer to win?
I think that those people trying to decide between Liberal and Conservative will not go to the Liberals becuase the US former president said they should. Maybe some NDP supporters considering holding their noses and voting Liberal in Liberal-conservative races might find being told to do so by an American president is a bridge too far. It won't convince Liberals in NDP ridings to support the NDP. So it will not help the NDP or the Liberals. It may help the Conservatives with their supporters who are likely to get riled up by a so-called "leftist" US President telling them what to do and New Democrats pissed at any American telling them what to do. Only those who already were going to vote for Trudeau will be delighted.
I dislike US presidents and former presidents being tolerated endorsing Canadian candidates also becuase it gives permission for Maga types down there to openly endorse their branch-plants here.
"How fitting...'

I think that Sean is right that it probably cuts both ways and so won't be especially helpful but I do think it is a stretch to say that Obama "told" anyone how to vote. I've read his tweet and what he did was give a brief but positive assessment of Trudeau and express the hope that Canadians would vote for him - and consequently against the Canadian party that helped Republicans campaign aginst him and later Hilary Clinton. So call it payback if you like.
Lastly, you'd have a hard time convincing me that if he had endorsed Jagmeet Singh, the NDP wouldn't be pushing it on every doorstep.
Quite right, and Jagmeet even suggested as much himself by saying that Obama endorsed the wrong progressive.
Isn't it nice that one of the former leaders of the US regime is taking an interest in our politics! I find his endorsement a slap in the face to Canadian sovereignty. Fuck you former POTUS, get your nose out of my country's election.
