Brutal for Labour

Which is to be expected, when Labour MPs spend more time slandering and undermining their own leader than they do on the task they are supposed to be putting before all other goals-attacking and defeating the Tory government.

But the Labour MPs who have focused on trying to force their own leader out over all other objectives don't care about beating the Tories.  They know perfectly well that what they've spent the last four years doing benefits no one but the Tories-and yet they don't care.

It seems to me that it is possible that many on both sides of Labour's civil war, "the leftists" and "the moderates," would rather see the Conservatives win the next election than see the other faction of their own party lead their party to victory. This reminds me of Lincoln's saying, "a house divided against itself cannot stand."

I think the only long term solution to this problem is electoral reform that replaces FPTP and lets both factions of Labour go their separate ways.
