There is a duel message coming from the Bloc with Leader Yves-François Blanchet apologizing for four candidates making anti-Muslim comments by saying
"They all regret having shared in the past videos or messages containing inappropriate comments," Blanchet said in an emailed statement. "They apologized. It seems that the two messages are for two different audiences so they can have it both ways, with people hearing the message they want to hear. However, this kind of dual message also has the potential to backfire in a major way.

Le Bloc is going to be in a curious position-they may well have the balance of power in the house, but, with maybe 30% of the vote, they're not going to be able to claim anything remotely similar to a mandate to push sovereignty.

And after all of that, we probably WILL see an LPC/Bloc "confidence and supply" deal. Why not? The Bloc isn't going to push for sovereignty with the vote share they pulled tonight-another referendum would clearly go down in flames-and the Bloc is the only minor party which doesn't want pr. It's win-win for Justin on that.

Maybe but there is a bit of memory-lapse here, I think. Whatever you think about the Trudeaus, they have fought separatism. I can't see any arrangement that bridges that.
