Impeachment is the House process. It is an inditement that goes to the Senate for trial. The Senate has to vote 2/3 in favour for removal.

Yes, the old mothercorp lately waxes even more reactionary than usual. Its flagship morning magazine show, The Current did an homage to the White Helmets and a propaganda film recently,  designed to pluck the heartstrings on behalf of the West's continuing proxy war against Syria by an alphabet soup of jihadi head-choppers. Apparently forgetting  anyone paying attention now knows the 'moderate rebels' in Idlib myth was debunked and put to rest quite some time ago. But of course here in sleepy Canucklehead hollow where the crooked broadcasting corporation and msm is still king of the dungheap, old lies never die. I think the Dems impeachment fiasco designed to protect the corrupt Joe Biden & Son could well get the orange terror elected again.

Mark Zaid, one of the attorneys representing the intelligence community whistleblower at the center of the Democrats’ ongoing impeachment inquiry, tweeted conspicuously in January 2017 that a “coup has started” and that “impeachment will follow ultimately.”

Then, in July 2017, Zaid remarked, “I predict @CNN will play a key role in @realDonaldTrump not finishing out his full term as president.” Also that month, Zaid tweeted, “We will get rid of him, and this country is strong enough to survive even him and his supporters.”...from The Duran

I remember when I first proposed this coup in these pages, the purple colour revolution, with a picture of the Clintons wearing purple just after the 2016 election, my message was censored by rabble....

josh

Uh, the coup has started remark refers to Trump getting rid of certain officials.  Not to a coup againt Trump.

josh

He has obstructed justice countless times, by witness tampering, forbidding his subordinates from complying with legal subpoenas, and by “using the powers of his high office, engaged personally and through his close subordinates and agents, in a course of conduct or plan designed to delay, impede, and obstruct” both the Mueller and now the Ukraine investigations. (I quote from Article 1 of Nixon’s impeachment.) Trump has also “failed without lawful cause or excuse to produce papers and things as directed by duly authorized subpoenas issued by the Committee on the Judiciary of the House of Representatives … and willfully disobeyed such subpoenas.” (I quote from Article III of Nixon’s impeachment.)

A Successful Coup Against Trump Will Murder American Democracy

Paul Craig Roberts

President Trump calls it a witch hunt, but it really is a coup against American democracy. The Democrats who want Trump impeached don’t realize this. They just want Trump impeached because they don’t like him. The impeach Trump people don’t understand that if the coup against the elected president succeeds, every future president will know that if he attempts to “drain the swamp” or bring any changes not acceptable to the ruling elite, he, too, will be destroyed. Voters who want real change will also get the message and give up trying to elect a president or members of the House and Senate who will be responsive to voters. It will mean the end of democracy and accountable government. Unhindered rule by the Deep State and associated elites will take democracy’s place.

JKR

How has Trump helped "drain the swamp?" It seems to me he has made the swamp much deeper. He has shown that a President can get away without almost anything by just denying the facts and counting on members of his party to stand by him for partisan reasons no matter how lawless the President behaves. Trump has proven that as long as their own party backs them up, a President is above the law.

What horseshit.

We have become so used to these attacks on our constitutional order that we fail to be shocked by Trump’s insistence that a constitutional impeachment inquiry is a “coup.” By any measure, this is an extraordinary statement, and itself an impeachable offense as a form of “contempt for Congress.” We barely blink anymore when a president refuses to cooperate in any way, demands his underlings refuse to testify and break the law by flouting subpoenas, threatens to out the first whistle-blower’s identity (in violation of the law), or assaults and tries to intimidate witnesses, like Colonel Alexander Vindman.

Is this posted for information or humour?

Of course it is utter garbage.

The democrat leadership has been skeptical about impeachment even as many supporters called for it becuase they did not want Trump to be able to use it and prefered to beat him in the polls.

The reason they are in impeachment is becuase the screams for impeachment from those who do not like Trump have now been matched with those who say that to not hold the President accoundable for crimes is a precedent that cannot be allowed. The evidence in favour of an impeachement inquiry (a much lower standard for an inquiry) has mounted far beyond what should have caused one due to the reluctance of the Democrats -- I think in part becuase they do not want trump to use it and they also do not want the Republicans to use such a procedure agaisnt a future Democrat president.

Use the analogy: where there is smoke - it at least deserves investigation even if you determine there was no fire in the end. In this case we are seeing specific allegations from many people backed up by evidence that a close look is required.

The Democrat fear of impeachment is related to two concerns: 1) that the Senate, faced with the evidence of ANY crime by a Republican simply will not care and 2) the the followers of Trump might actually love the existence of a crime becuase they do not really believe there should be any rules for a President they support.

These two concerns are indications that the coup already happened and the Republicans won it.

In the old system, a thesis would be contradicted with counter arguments...to think that this flimsy evidence on Trump`s quid pro quo would remove his presidency, legitimately? Since when anyway have potencies and imperialists not used quid pro quo?

No, I wholeheartedly agree with Roberts...to remove a presidency without a vote is the end of democracy....does anyone think that his supporters won`t put up a fight over this?

His criminality? Compared to Foundation Clinton? George W.? And as if the presidency has any real power in this system?

Trump`s real criminality is to usher words suggesting US withdrawal from its imperialist ambitions (just talk of course!), a crime against humanity for the banksters and their oil and war industries, and their leftishist apologists!

Impeachment is specifically set forth in the constitution.  Democracy?  Rather ironic since Trump's opponent won more votes.  The Clinton Foundation?

A state judge ordered President Trump to pay $2 million in damages to nonprofit groups on Thursday after the president admitted misusing money raised by the Donald J. Trump Foundation to promote his presidential bid, pay off business debts and purchase a portrait of himself for one of his hotels.

Wow you have the Trump play book down pat.

It is not bullying to respond in the way I did critical of a post.

No, don't call a quote with nothing more a thesis.

And it is so ridiculous that it did deserve the question of whether this was humour or not.

Use of a procedure built into the system is not a coup and it is just propaganda to pretend it is.

I won't even bother to define what a coup is as it would be pointless discussing it with someone who did not know.

But it is the Trump playbook to attack, pull incredible shit and claim to be the victim when called out.

In this case it is nothing to do with you since it was a quote and I am not bullying the propagandist who wrote that piece.

The thesis is that an attempt (to fail miserably of course) to impeach Trump on a quid pro quo, for which the Ukraine president apparently was not even aware, will destroy the already unhealthy democratic process.

No president will ever again have the guts or desire to act outside the wishes of the Deep State.

The thesis is that such an impeachment attempt if by miracle does succeed will place all future presidents under the control of the Deep State and its compliant paid off (Operation paperclip?) MSM.....

But looks like the attempt already is a failure........2 out of 2 strikes...and with the Candidates for the Democratic Party now floundering? Trump will win, unless of course my thesis that the US finances will implode bringing on the mother of all economic depressions...which opens up an entirely new game....

I of course do not support Trump or the Democrats, nor even think this whole charade is even relevant! To change!

Trump idiotically tried to strong arm Ukraine into attacking Joe Biden, Trump's domestic political rival. That goes against Trump's oath of office. It's also illegal. Schiff’s Impeachment Lynch Mob Signals the End of America’s Two-Party Political System

Robert Bridge

November 12, 2019

A person need not feel any particular fondness for Donald Trump to find these circumstances surrounding the impeachment show trial as disgraceful, dishonorable and beneath the dignity of the American people. And whether they want it or not, the fallout from Schiff’s shenanigans will have repercussions long into the future of the US political system, which is groaning under the weight of corruption and deceit.

The public, which is slowly awakening to the problem, will ultimately demand new leadership to break the current two-party internecine struggle. Thus, talk of a civil war in the United States, while possible, is being overplayed. The truth will be much simpler and far less violent. Out of the dust and ashes of the defunct duopoly that is now at war with itself, the American people will soon demand fresh political blood in Washington and this will bring to the forefront capable political forces that are committed to the primary purpose of politics: representing the needs of the people, once again.

Disgraceful, dishonorable and beneath the dignity of the American people, that is a great line but frankly I think it describes the whole US Presidential race. Trump was bad but none of the other Republicans was better. Then of course we have Hillary who was gleeful after the murder of a leader of a sovereign country that was invaded and destroyed by the us imperial machine.

My favourite these days is that Wexit is a Russian bot plot. It used to be a lot easier when if you were a communist you might want to help the USSR. Now that Russia under Putin is firmly a capitalist oligarchy, just like most NATO countries, its hard to understand what political ideology they would be backing.

Why the Only Thing the Democrats Will Succeed in Impeaching is Their Own Integrity

"If all you read is The New York Times, you'd think that the dump-trump movement was going swimmingly...The other big news the Times managed to ignore last week was the disclosure that the whistleblower who kicked off the furor over the Trump-Zelensky phone call is a 33- year-old CIA agent named Eric Chiaramella, an Obama holdover who advised Joe Biden on the Ukraine and who worked with a Democratic operative named Alexandra Chalupa, whose job was to meet with Ukrainian officials and dig up dirt on Trump.

So Chiaramella reported his findings to Adam Schiff, who agreed right off the bat to prosecute the president for daring to set a new course. This is what impeachment is about, not high crimes and misdemeanors, but who lost the Ukraine - plus Syria, Libya, Yemen and other countries that the Obama administration succeeded in destroying - and only Trump should pay the supreme penalty for suggesting that Democrats are to blame.

Of course the Times is to blame as well. It twisted the news so as to cheer on such misbegotten policies just as it cheered on the twin invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq a dozen years or so earlier. This is why it's furious with Trump for holding Democrats to account and why it now fills its pages with endless blather about quid pro quos just as it once did about Russian collusion..."

Quigley’s Greatest Con

Published: Thursday, November 14, 2019

Download free computerized mp3 audio file of this column

I won’t beat around the bush. All of the hate-mongering against Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., is nothing more than public theater—and that includes Trump’s forthcoming impeachment. It is all public theater. Nothing more. In fact, the more opposition Trump receives, the more popular he becomes. And that’s the whole purpose.

Donald Trump is not an outsider. He is not anti-establishment. He is not anti-globalist. He is the globalists’ perfect con on the American people. He tells them what they want to hear but in reality changes nothing of importance to the establishment elite. But Trump makes everybody think he’s changing things. Like I said, Trump is the globalists’ perfect con.

David Risselada recently wrote an astute and accurate analysis of this giant con going on in Washington, D.C. He titled his missive Political Theater: Trump vs. The Left and the unnoticed approach of the police state.

Joseph Goebbels once said that a lie repeated often enough would be accepted as truth. Perhaps then, if the truth is continuously repeated, it too will be accepted for what it is. Sometimes, the truth does not sit well in the minds of men. It forces us to face discomfort and accept realities that we otherwise might ignore to satisfy our own sense of reality. Living the lie allows us to disregard our personal responsibilities to the world around us while providing us with a false sense of security that tends to diminish when faced with the realization that we have been deceived. Nothing could demonstrate this idea better than the political circus that is our government.

Since the election of Donald Trump America has been treated to a non-stop, relentless propaganda campaign designed to discredit and unseat the man as a duly elected president. Many of his diehard supporters have come to believe that he is singlehandedly waging a battle for freedom against an entrenched “deep state.” The more the left rallies against him the more his supporters love him. In fact, sixty-two percent of his voters have said that it wouldn’t matter what he did, they would still support him. This is disturbing as it shows an unwillingness to face the truth.

While the attention of the country has been focused on the impeachment drama, a Trump vs. the Democrats soap opera, the nation is, in fact, taking a draconian turn to the left and no one notices. It isn’t that they don’t notice ̶ rather, it is a refusal to come to grips with the idea that things may not be what they seem. While one side portrays the president as someone who absolutely must be removed from office because he colluded with the Russians, or engaged in “quid pro quo” with Ukraine, the other side shows him as a man who can do no wrong. A brilliant tactician who is engaging in a game of four-dimensional chess who at any moment will take down the deep state and restore America to greatness. Sometimes, when things seem too good to be true, they are.

Carrol Quigley, a former professor from Georgetown University and author of the book “Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in our Time” is quoted as saying the American political system should give the impression that there are two parties working against one another when in truth, they are pursuing the exact same policies. It should also be noted that Quigley was one of Bill Clinton’s professors.

The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies... is a foolish idea. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can throw the rascals out at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy. Then it should be possible to replace it, every four years if necessary, by the other party which will be none of these things but will still pursue, with new vigor, approximately the same basic policies. (Quigley, 1966)

Bravo, David!

The Trump v The Left political charade in Washington, D.C., is Quigley’s greatest con. While the entire country has divided itself on either side of the Trump trench and is digging in for a long and protracted war, the people for whom both Trump and The Left work are peacefully and quietly going forward with their globalist agenda. Wake up, folks! Both Trump and The Left are providing cover for the same people.

Think about it: What exactly is it that the power elite want? Do you think they really care about political parties? Do you think they really care about the left-right paradigm? Absolutely not! In truth, both political parties and both the liberal and conservative ideologies mostly serve the agendas of the power elite—from opposite ends, of course.

Here is some of what the international power elite truly care about:

Manipulating the global economy

Please tell me how Donald Trump has changed America’s overall economy. All of the brouhaha over Trump’s punitive tariffs and socialist-based job creation is simply more political sleight of hand. And many economists say that the stock market is currently experiencing a bigger bubble—that’s soon to burst—than the one in 2008 and 2009.

Trump complains about the FED chairman that HE appointed but does nothing about him. Why? Because Trump is not his own man, that’s why. He never was. He does what his globalist handlers tell him to do just like his predecessors from both parties.

Jerome Powell is just another CFR global Zionist like the vast majority of FED chiefs and some 70% of FED members—and Trump knew it when he appointed him. The FED is a giant Ponzi scheme that only makes money when America goes in debt. The FED thrives on debt-based economics. Guess what? Since Donald Trump became president, the federal debt has skyrocketed. As I have already noted, in just three years, Trump has usurped Barack Obama as “The King of Debt.”

The federal government's outstanding public debt has surpassed $23 trillion for the first time in history, according to data from the Treasury Department released on Friday.

Growing budget deficits have added to the nation's debt at a speedy rate since President Trump took office. The debt has grown some 16 percent since Trump's inauguration, when it stood at $19.9 trillion. It passed $22 trillion for the first time just 10 months ago. (Source)

See also this report.

Donald Trump TALKS about “conservative” economics, but his actions prove he is just another presidential puppet for the FED.

iyraste1313

a shame that we are not pursuing a real leftist strategy in these pages.....

voice of the damned

Jerome Powell is just another CFR global Zionist like the vast majority of FED chiefs and some 70% of FED members

Okay, you see, this kind of stuff is why Israeli-apologists are able to make hay by accusing everyone who criticizes Zionism of being anti-Jewish.

Zionism is the belief that the Jews should have their own nation-state in the region of Palestine. No more, no less. It has nothing to do with the US Federal Reserve, or any other aspect of the banking system, except in the imaginations of people who believe that the banks are all controlled by Jews, and that banks are therefore somehow connected to Zionism and Israel.

And yes, it's possible that Powell and a lot of other people in the Federal Reserve are personally pro-Israel; a lot of mainstream establishment opinion is. Doesn't make it a relevant thing to bring up when discussing the impact of the Fed's policies.

Joseph Goebbels once said that a lie repeated often enough would be accepted as truth.

Really ironic since no one has ever done more of that than Trump.

Trump and Zelensky Want Peace With Russia. The Fascists Oppose that.

"NBC News is not impressed by the first day of the Democrats' impeachment circus. But it fails to note what the conflict is really about. President Obama was against giving weapons to Ukraine and never transfered any to Ukraine despite pressure from certain circles [unlike Canada which does tranfer arms to Ukraine]. Was Obama's decision against US national interest? Where are the Democrats or deep state members accusing him of that? It is not in the interest of Ukraine to be a proxy for US deep-state antagonism toward Russia..."

Or Canada.

Since Trump is a fascist, are you saying that he is opposing himself?

thanks for your reasonable assessment....my suggestion is for you to read carefully statements of the Israeli leadership...Israel´s intention is for a greater Israel re their biblical interpretations...so e.g. their close collaborations with the Kurds in Syria and Iraq, their coordination of Syrian oil through Turkey for processing in Israel...etc...lots of documentation
