Coronavirus: Flexible working will be a new normal after virus
Right-wingers don't let a little Covid-19 virus stop them. Just drop the prices and they will be instantly filled.
Did you read the article? I thought it was a good analysis.
'The second wave will come' and experts say Canada is not prepared
Now that the virus is on the downswing in many hotspots and 8 of 10 Canadian provinces, the media is going to have to keep this fearmongering going in order to get newspaper subscriptions, ratings, and views on the Internet up. The danger is that when the second wave does come, people will be so tired of hearing about the coronavirus that they will have already tuned out, and won't tune back in unless it comes back in a really destructive way. This over-the-top coverage about how we are all going to die of coronavirus is going to risk just that outcome.
A24 the headlines should read Central Canada is not prepared. However this is Canada and our national media thinks Ontario and Quebec are the only part of the country worth talking about.
Vancouver, is a very desirable location. Amazon or whoever just announced they will be hiring 1,000 people, to work here, which means 1,000 more people or families looking for housing. What we desperately need is affordable housing. The best thing that could happen here is for housing prices and rents to drop by 25%-50% so that people can afford to live here once again.

Why we might not get a coronavirus vaccine
Politicians have become more cautious about immunisation prospects. They are right to be
More than 30 years after scientists isolated HIV, the virus that causes Aids, we have no vaccine. The dengue fever virus was identified in 1943, but the first vaccine was approved only last year, and even then amid concerns it made the infection worse in some people. The fastest vaccine ever developed was for mumps. It took four years.
Scientists have worked on coronavirus vaccines before, so are not starting from scratch. Two coronaviruses have caused lethal outbreaks before, namely Sars and Mers, and vaccine research went ahead for both. But none have been licensed, partly because Sars fizzled out and Mers is regional to the Middle East. The lessons learned will help scientists create a vaccine for Sars-CoV-2, but there is still an awful lot to learn about the virus.
A chief concern is that coronaviruses do not tend to trigger long-lasting immunity. About a quarter of common colds are caused by human coronaviruses, but the immune response fades so rapidly that people can become reinfected the next year.
