Climate Change in Canada

Yes the Liberals are screwing up Canada's approach to global warming but at least the Liberals accept the fact that climate change is a problem.

But from now on, every time there is a flood, a fire, anything that could possibly be created by climate change we need to blame the global warming problems on the people who would have us do nothing - the Conservatives!

Why Canada might need a climate law — and how it might work

We've had nine climate targets in over three decades. Legislation could help us stick to a plan.

Really bad time for this to happen during a respiratory viral pandemic:

Quote:

A healthy dose of rain in some areas of B.C. on Monday night helped clear out some of the wildfire smoke hanging over the province, but the air quality has returned to the dangerous levels seen since last week.

Air quality remains rated at the "very high" risk level of 10+ from Vancouver Island through the Lower Mainland and Okanagan regions to the Kootenays, according to Environment Canada. Only the northern third of the province has escaped air quality advisories in recent days.

The rain on Monday helped improve visibility in some areas — some communities might catch a glimpse of unobstructed sunlight Tuesday for the first time time in days — but the reprieve won't last long, meteorologists say.

"There is so much smoke that half an hour, an hour of rain is just not enough to try to get us to clean levels," said Armel Castellan, warning preparedness meteorologist with Environment Canada.

I have to say that I am very disappointed in the babble community. While everyone is fixated on covid, this little item didn't receive much attention. Brandon actually experienced smoke from wildfires in the southwestern US. Think about that. Not only did the smoke from these wildfires make it up the coast, but to the middle of the continent. The smoke would not only have had to cover a large distance, but would have had to move past mountain ranges which typically contain smoke and air pollution. Think about that for a second people. That scares me a hell of a lot more than covid. Even if we did nothing, covid would have eventually burnt itself out. Climate change, on the other hand, is going to burn us all up unless we do something to stop it. And I would expect the media to go for low-hanging fruit about ridiculous things like people partying and finding everyone who is afraid of corona and giving them a platform to say so on camera, all for a virus that has yet to infect one percent of our population and that kills less than 5% of the people it infects. But why are so many babblers falling for these blatant media manipulative tactics and talking about covid-covid-covid while being relatively silent on this particular burning issue?
