2020 USA presidential election
Trump or Biden?
Craig Murray on the future, when/if Trump leaves office:
....
I know that many of my readers will be triumphant at the departure of Trump. I can understand that. From the viewpoint of US domestic policy and particularly attitudes to social division, race and immigration, the end of Trump’s cynical manipulation of atavistic instinct among the electorate will be in itself a good thing. This has not been a healthy period in US politics. But Trump has not been defeated by a Bernie Sanders; he has been defeated by a corrupt political hack backed to the hilt by the large majority of the billionaire owned media, financed out of Wall street and with no intention of pursuing anything other than neo-liberal economic policies. It is also the firm re-establishment of the rule of the security state and the military-industrial complex. Trump’s instinctive isolationism made him an enemy of the security state interest which spent a great deal of time in trying to undermine its President.
With Biden we will return to business as usual, and that means war and invasions. Under Trump we have had no new wars started, even if he continued old ones with little control. Without Trump, I have not the tiniest doubt that Syria would have been bombed back to the Stone Age, exactly like Libya, and millions more people would have been killed. Irrespective of the undoubted damage Trump has caused inside the United States across many fronts, Hillary would have killed a lot more people. Just not Americans....

I can't express my appreciation enough to you for posting this article by Nathan Robinson entitled "The 2020 Election Results Completely Discredits the Democratic Leadership". Although there will be huge denials about it, it is so dead on and in a league by itself, with its accuracy, about what has been taking place in America
Who could have guessed having Republicans in your campaign and at your convention might hurt you downballot?
The Democratic Party of Schumer, Pelosi and Biden is a party of ghouls. If there isn't a complete clearing out of the leadership, the next election will be horrifying.
I don't know if you've seen it or not, but Nathan J. Robinson names the same 3 Dem "leaders" when he takes the party to task in this article.
If Joe Biden couldn’t thrash Trump under these circumstances, God only knows how he could have won if COVID-19 hadn’t happened. Trump has been an abysmal president. His approach to climate change threatens the lives of countless human beings. The case against him should be open-and-shut. Yet the Democratic Party lost to him once and has come close to doing it again. How?
No kidding Pelosi has to go and go quickly, Schumer as well. What a farce.

President Trump delivers remarks: 11/05/20
@32:00 "It's a corrupt system..."
And the circus continues.
Imagine how many lawsuits are coming at Trump the day after he leaves the White House. By-the-way, has Trump ordered the movers yet, or should Biden call them for Trump?
Poor baby Donald says system is corrupt and he is being cheated out of victory. Please bring him some Kleenex to dry his tears. What a freaking embarrassment.
Scaramucci who was just on CBC is brilliant
I missed the part in Trump's pathetic ramblings today, where he shared with the Americans that he mailed in his own personal ballot to Florida.
Boden now has it made. Everytime the progressive wing of the Democrats will want something Biden will just throw his hands up in the air and say that he can't do it because Mitch McConnell controls the Senate

"Absentee ballots remain the largest source of political voter fraud.' That quote isn't from President Trump, who criticised mail-in voting this week after Wisconsin Democrats tried and failed to change an election at the last minute into an exclusvely mail-in affair. It's the criticism of the bipartisan 2005 report of the Commission on Federal Election Reform, chaired by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker..."

"Thirty-seven states have changed their mail-in voting procedures in response to the coronavirus. They have followed the lead of Democrats and the media, who claim that the concerns about voter fraud and vote buying are figments of the Republican imagination. Besides the US, there are 36 member states in the OECD. Forty-seven percent ban mail-in voting unless the citizen is living abroad, and 30 percent require a photo ID to obtain a mail-in ballot. Fourteen percent of the countries ban mail-in voting even for those living abroad..."
Can't Count Votes? Just Draw Straws
https://www.moonofalabama.org/2020/11/lets-draw-straws.html
"It seems we all have to fill up our popcorn supplies as the rather comical and disgraceful process of the US vote counting is likely to continue until maybe December 8, the safe harbor date on which the states will have to certify their elections...
That the Democrats lose House seats, do not win the senate and barely manage to drag their demented presidential candidate towards a stalemate tells a lot about their lack of sane policies. A donor party completely disinterested in what the people really want - medicare for all, no fracking etc - will have little chance to survive a future onslaught of conservatives with a more competent figure-head than Donald Trump.
Maybe Trump and Biden could publicly draw straws to get it over with."

Coming from you high praise indeed, Mr Mainstream...
Is Al Gore the best President the USA never had?
What's to prevent Trump repeating Bush's defeat of Gore by somehow bringing the election to the Supreme Court and having the election overturned by his GOP cronies in the court? Otherwise why did they even bother making the recent SC appointment?
It seems once again the Democrats may be outfoxed by Trump
Boden now has it made. Everytime the progressive wing of the Democrats will want something Biden will just throw his hands up in the air and say that he can't do it because Mitch McConnell controls the Senate
Which in practical terms is not significantly different than him saying his hands are tied because he can't get Joe Manchin or Kyrsten Sinema on board.

Connarn said in an affidavit filed Thursday in support of the Trump campaign's Wednesday lawsuit that workers were 'changing the dates the ballots were recovered.' 'When I approached the poll worker, she stated to me that she was being told to change the date on ballots, to reflect that the ballots were received on an earlier date,' Connarn said in an affidavit, according to the Detroit Free Press. She claims that the poll worker also slipped her a note that read: 'Entered received date as 11/2/20 on 11/4/20..."

I hadn't seen that but I do agree with a lot of what Robinson usually says. I think Pelosi will (hopefully) go but Schumer is the one I am most worried gets a pass. There is no way the Democrats can have any legitimacy with the working class until he is replaced. It's ridiculous that the post-financial crisis Democrats have him in a key leadership position.
From:
The Finance Curse: How Global Finance is Making US All Poorer by Nicholas Shaxson
In November 1999, a few months after Rubin had left his post to become the head of Citicorp, the new breed of American anti-regulators brought down their biggest trophy kill, the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act, a singularly effective piece of antitrust legislation that had for six and a half decades prevented banks from gambling with depositors’ money. If they did not pass this, Democratic senator Chuck Schumer thundered, London or other financial centers would surpass New York as the center of global finance (188).
My exhibit A here is a remarkable lobbying document issued by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg and Senator Chuck Schumer in January 2007, just months ahead of the first shocks of the crisis. Entitled ‘Sustaining New York’s and the US’ Global Financial Services Leadership, its core argument rested on two words. One was “London,” which it mentioned 135 times in as many pages, and second was “competitive” (or variations of that word), with more than two hundred mentions. New York was losing out in a great global race with the City of London and other financial centers, and it was urgent to keep up with London’s “more amenable and collaborative regulatory environment” through massive further financial deregulation. “While our regulatory bodies are often competing to be the toughest cop on the street,” the authors urged in an article complementing the document, "the British regulatory body seems to be more collaborative and solutions-oriented. New York was still “in the lead” in terms of size, the anxiety-inducing summary said, but London was “ahead” of the United States in many areas, like derivatives. America risked being “marginalized” in this “ultracompetitive marketplace.” The solution: relax regulations, stop policing financial markets, and chase London down into the votex (194).
Everytime he has wielded his power, it has been to run terrible candidates for the Senate.

Nonsense. They spewed 4 years of Democrat/CIA/MSM Russiagate conspiracy nonsense and chumps like you swallowed it all. As long as I've been here I've never known you and your 'progressive' pals not to answer the msm warcry and cheerlead propaganda campaigns against Russia, China, Syria, Julian Assange etc. No matter how putrid and poisonous you gobble it up. PS Notice how the 'Russian election meddling for Trump' is suddenly curiously absent? Only here on babble does it somehow still cling to life.
Trump said most of the media and the polls were unfairly against him and he is correct that the media was against him but for good reason his incompetence in handling Covid-19 but the polling industry is altogether another issue and the 2020 election shows just how incompetent or manipulative they are.

They are a disgrace.
Alan, where is that coming from? Biden is only 6 votes away from clinching it, and Biden will probably become Presidential- Elect today.
Here's hoping Donald Trump and the GOP anger the people from the State of Georgia so much, that they elect two Democrats to the Senate in January, which gives control of the Senate to the Democrats.
Biden leads in Pennsylvania so it is now a wrap.
