If their roles were reversed, Biden would have already gracefully conceded to Trump because Biden has at least some ethical and moral underpinnings. On the other hand, Trump is a psychopathic narcissist who is simply incapable of acting ethically or morally. For 5 years people have known that Trump would be incapable of acknowledging electoral defeat. No surprise here. One of the questions arising now is if Trump will actually pardon himself and many of his criminal enablers while he is being forced to face reality and leave office as the worst president in the very long history of the U.S..

US Elections are certified once every vote is counted and all outstanding legal issues are sorted. There is a deadline for this, and it varies by state. Most states must be done by the end of November. The governor or a statewide entity such as the secretary of state then certifies their electoral votes and the slate of electors who will cast them. These electors meet on December 14 to formally cast the votes in the Electoral College.

A US election is not decided when CNN 'projects' or 'calls' Joe Biden the winner nor when the NATO Secretary-General or Justin Trudeau sends their congratulations. There is a constitutional process involved. And until that  US constitutional process is completed, no matter what msm, Dem politicians, or  babblers may say, think or hope, this is still a contested election.
