Nuanced Rebuttal to the Ballad of Bonnie Henry

Dr. Bonnie Henry is doing a pretty good job. Thanks Dr. Henry! But when John Horgan passes the buck to you on how to proceed with northern work camps, I think you should shut them down. People fly in and out, carrying the virus, making money for some millionaire and infecting northern and indigenous communities in the process.

Not to mention a logistical nightmare to move a worker who falls ill in the camps to a medical facility for help.

Sensation is right! Thanks Laine.

What a catchy way to spread a message about a very serious topic.

Did anyone catch any of that fundraising broadcast marathon in support of WHO? I caught a bit of Paul McCartney and the closing number. Billed as a "Live Aid" for our times, it didn't do it for me.

Just think. It if wasn't for the immense losses and sacrifice to defeat German Fascism in the Great Patriotic War, we could today be ruled over by the grandchildren of those Nazis instead...

I am a combat vet who has given this a lot of thought. War is a funny thing. At first it makes you a joiner. Then it makes you a killer, then a doubter. In the end it just leaves you dead. Whether you die on the battlefield or live to be an old man. You're dead.

There's too many to list, but if you go onto YouTube, there are a number of songs from cartoons, movies, musicals, and famous songs of all genres rewritten as coronavirus parodies. I encourage everyone to take a look.

Lest you think that country music fans are all covidiots who are protesting the lockdowns, country musicians Big and Rich, as a public service, are asking us to stay home. Luke Combs laments that we have to stay 6 feet apart.

Point of Light-Randy Travis

This one is for all the doctors, nurses, educators, parents, adademics, politicians, pastors, epidemiologits, scientists, journalists, social media influencers, and lockdown protesters challenging these draconian lockdown orders, in the face of the abuse and social media mob mentality that pervades among the pro-lockdown crowd.

It doesn't matter what anyone says. All that matters is whether or not hospitals are able to continue operating.

If the doctors and nurses that work at those hospitals say that they are getting overloaded with Covid-19 cases to the point where regular surgeries are at risk then we must curtail activities.

Those other doctors and nurses who think it's no big deal should go work with covid patients full-time and over-time in the overloaded hospitals.

A neighbour works in a Toronto hospital emerg and when I told her some of the nonsense that people are saying about COVID-19, she said "they need to wake up to my reality or die in very large numbers very soon."

And many police officers will tell you that having arbitrary powers to detain people on the street and search them without what the law would deem as probable cause would save lives and would put a dent in violent crime. I guess since they deal with public safety we should let that determine public policy?

I hope those doctors and nurses advocating lockdowns enjoy hospitals being overwhelmed when the restrcitons force people to break to the point that rioting and social unrest breaks out in places like Winnipeg. I've seen the impact the social distancing has had on the downtown area, and I am convinced that it's not a question of when, but if at this point. Good luck enforcing the social distancing rules when all hell breaks loose and there's chaos in the streets.

How bout a tune from a fellow babbler...did this years ago @ the time of the bird flu. Jist is how pollution is turning our immune systems into a toxic wreck. Note the covid virus targeted people with respiratory diseaes, something activists have been trying to change for decades. Chalk one up for internet archives...but should be warning that everything you post on the internet - stays on the internet.
