Sanders probably is still most effective in the Senate but the Secretary of Labour should be someone he would have appointed. If Biden and the Democrats don't pay attention to the indicators that they are losing the working class vote in a lot of areas, then I'd expect the Republicans to take back the Presidency next election.

I think Warren undercut her leverage by running such an awful campaign in the primaries. I don't see her having a lot of allies. It's a pretty safe bet that she would be a much better Secretary of the Treasury than what we'll see Biden appoint though.

Joe Biden is no saviour. There is nothing progressive about the man. He is as beholden to the plutocracy as Trump. As usual the anti-democratic Senate will hinder the establishment of left of centre policies. Hopefully the Democrats win both Georgia Senate seats. Even then the Senate will function to limit change as 60 Senators are required to make real change like expanding Medicare. Medicine should be expanded to cover all Americans who want it even if single-payer is not established.

One would have to have democratic institutions for them to be endangered. Electoral college, Citizen's United and electronic voting instead of paper ballots all tell me if there ever was any democracy in the US electoral system it has been gone long before the Orange Herring arrived on the scene.
