Will higher taxes on the rich derail California’s economic comeback?

NDPP

"We should ask the wealthiest to pay their fair share.' NDP Leaders Jagmeet Singh says the federal government should go after wealth hidden in tax havens and big corporations like Netflix and Amazon in an effort to address the massive federal deficit."

Now One Trillion and change. Won't happen of course. The likeliest scenario  is more borrowing until that becomes impossible. Then the 'cost-cutting' and asset-stripping to repay will begin. Like Greece, a final neoliberal solution agreed to by social democrats if necessary will be imposed.  We will be sold out by our politicians. Oligarchs and banksters will clean up in the endgame.

The left is failing to reach and lead the 99%.

How do you think the left should reach and lead the 99%?

I wish I knew. As a group, we have failed. The right is winning. The people who should be our strongest supporters are not. The grassroots on the right is stronger because if it. The right has defined what "elite" means and made it a dirty word. Science and education have been delegitimized. We have moments of support as happened with Occupy but we don't seem able to take it anywhere.

It is very discouraging that Paul won but I still believe that Lascaris could be the answer if he gets enough support to overthrow the leadership.
