I think that both the views can co-exist. No insurrection is started by a majority, they generally just try to keep their heads down and stay among the living. Yeah exactly. The extreme wing has overstepped and entered a place where the broader conservative Republican movement is no longer comfortable . It's good that they are turning on each other. It's good that the degree to which fascism has taken root in the police, militia, and ex-military has been exposed for all to see. That should be addressed and stomped out. That can be done without the Democrats pushing for an expansion of anti-terrorism legislation ,which they are already eager to ram through. They can use existing legislation to hold those accountable who played in part in encouraging and enacting this little show of fascist bullying. There is both the danger that the Democrats will use this to push through more security state BS and the danger that they will not take advantage of the opportunity to stomp out the fascism that is metastisizing.
