Don't blame a lack of education — QAnon proves privileged white people are losing their minds too

This framing isn't just likely to backfire on Democrats, it's also flat-out untrue. There is no reason to believe that QAnon is the result of a lack of educational opportunities. As with the Trumpism that gave birth to QAnon, the phenomenon is the result largely of privileged white people losing their minds because of perceived threats to their social status from people of color and cosmopolitan liberals.

Interesting article in Slate about the coverage of MTG in the Georgian press, particularly those in her congressional district. The prize, for me, was the last paragraph.

Molly Olmstead wrote:
In the Atlanta Jewish Times, meanwhile, a rabbi recalled how one clearly weary Jewish doctor in Greene’s district had summed up their experience. “As a health professional I pledge to take care of anybody,” the doctor had said. “People come in. I take care of them. I treat them. And I have to simply cancel that thought out, that seven of 10 of my patients voted for this crazy woman.”

Enraged Democrat forces Republicans to view photo Marjorie Taylor Greene posted holding an AR-15 next to ‘The Squad’

U.S. Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) walked around the well of the House Thursday evening, forcing Republican members of Congress to view a threatening ad then-candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene ran on Facebook. The ad depicts Greene wielding an AR-15 assault rifle next to images of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Talib. The ad reads: "Squad's Worst Nightmare."

Not even close.  I count at least 80 in a row here, and I stopped counting backward at that point; there could be even more.  Heck, it would have been 110 in a row if you hadn't come in for the back pat on Jan. 16.

Maybe we could  have threads just for news articles  such as "U.S. Politics - news articles only" or "BC : Only news articles"? And threads just  for  discussion  like "US Politics : No news articles, just discussion"?

Good idea. Some mornings I get carpal tunnel syndrome from so much scrolling. The sad thing is that NR posts many good articles but I am not about to peruse every article he posts so I just ignore everything he posts and move on to peoples discussions.. I also believe that NR posts mostly articles that he has not read anything more than the headlines because no one can read that many articles everyday and he often doesn't seem to get the point when the headlines are misleading, as they often are.
