On the positive side, my wife and I, both in the 70-75 age cohort, were able to make appointments online yesterday to get our first vaccine shots this Friday. I'm surprised there hasn't been a more enthusiastic uptake of the vaccination opportunities here in Hamilton, but I am pleased to get a vaccination so soon.

My mother-in law who is 91 had her shot. In BC they are at the 73 year old booking stage and next will be the 70 to 72 which includes me. My wife is not yet 65 so it will be sometime before they get to her age.

I am one of those folks who has never gotten a flu shot because I never get the flu, however COVID is not the flu. On the plus side Canada is so far behind in vaccinating people we have millions of people internationally who have already received whatever type of jab one gets. So all in all, it appears it can't kill me and might even immunize me if I'm lucky. I will be booking at the first opportunity.
