Please, let this be the BCNDP campaign slogan next time.

It would be the best gift they could give the BC Greens or, if they can manage to get their act together by the next provincial election, the BC Ecosocialists.

Finally and thank goodness for BC to have healthy leadership in NDP Premier John Horgan to call it like it is.

83.2% of Whistler cases are young adults; main sources of transmission are household, social gatherings

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/83-2-of-whistler-cases-are-young-adults-main-sourc...

Do you even read the articles you post or just take snippets from headlines and declare some sort of victory for your Exalted Leader. Here is what I think is the real case and funny thing it was in the article.

While some have pointed out the increase in cases in this demographic may be because this is an age group that often works in public-facing jobs, and in Whistler, despite pleas from public health officers to stay local, there are tourists frequenting the area.

It may be the case for some, but Vancouver Coastal Health said in Whistler, "the most common location for transmission also continues to be in household settings and social gatherings."

That being said, some younger residents have been quick to voice that it's more complicated than just people breaking rules. Many in this age group live with roommates who also work public-facing jobs, so transmission through household settings could be as simple as one roommate catching COVID-19 at work, not realizing right away and spreading it to the others they live with.

Pondering

The expectations placed on young people have been ridiculous.

If I were a young person not seeing my grandparents or parents, and forced into proximity with my peers anyway, through work or school, I would have had difficultly understanding why I should otherwise isolate myself.  My shift ends and suddenly I can't hang out with co-workers?

We have done a horrible job of protecting essential workers and they should be at the front of the line for vaccinations.

The fault for the spread of Covid lies squarely on the shoulders of Trudeau and every other weak-kneed idiot politician. This was entirely foreseeable. Every politician in Canada had and has a responsibility to speak up and demand all levels of government respond appropriately instead of this Mickey-mouse approach we have been subjected to and that includes BC.

Countries all had warnings in November/December 2019 through intelligence agents that a pandemic threat had emerged.  January 2020 it was in the news. In February Kenny started stocking up on PPEs so it was not rocket science to figure out that we needed to act.  It is the fault of our politicians that we have no means of producing vaccines and we refused to fund research into a vaccine in Canada.

Young people should be furious that government at all levels have failed to put protecting lives first. Because of that they have sent out mixed messaging about what is and isn't safe. If it's work related don't worry, but it's too dangerous to see anyone else, defies logic.

You would think now that we realize their work is essential to the running of society we would be willing to pay them a living wage and cover sick leave. Maybe arrange their work so that they don't have to pee in a bottle to make quotas.

It just occurred to me that there should be a way to tip delivery people.

Once all those who want to get vaccinated have been vaccinated I would support forced vaccination on the rest of us.

Enough already from the  spokespeople from the various economic sectors of the country as all their approaches or propopsals have failed. It's time to shut Canada down, including shuting all our borders including interprovincial borders, and even municipal borders, and stay at home until we get rid of Covid-19 and its many variants.

‘What is essential travel?’: Questions around B.C.’s COVID-19 travel crackdown

SFU researcher Julianne Piper told Global News Tuesday that the announcement from Horgan was “welcomed” as their research has shown that jurisdictions that have reacted early and restricted travel have been successful in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

“So this is really a welcome recognition by the provincial government of the role that travel has played in the introduction and spread of variants throughout B.C.,” she said.

You are a sucker for imperial propaganda. The US made a decisions to vaccinate its people in February when Biden took over. All this announcement says is that sometime in the future that process will be complete enough to send some to other countries. That is after they legislatively ripped up our governments contracts by banning exports.

I think you must often suffer from whiplash trying to follow the twists of the propaganda mill. Nothing in this latest announcements goes against Biden's fuck you attitude as announced in February. The beatings will continue until morale in the NATO alliance improves.

President Joe Biden plans to uphold the U.S. policy of guaranteeing that Americans will be inoculated first before the country shares its shots, despite requests for co-operation from Canada.

A Pfizer plant in Michigan was supposed to help supply vaccines to Canada. But an exclusivity deal with the U.S. government guarantees that all of its American-made doses will stay in the country until Washington’s orders are filled. Moderna has a similar arrangement regarding its plant in New Hampshire.

These contracts mean Canada has had to source vaccines from Belgium and Switzerland, leading to shortages that have thwarted Ottawa’s vaccination drive.

A U.S. government official briefed on the White House’s vaccine rollout plans said the Biden administration has no interest in sharing U.S.-produced vaccines with Canada or any other country before all Americans have received the shots.

“It’s important that our global community is healthy,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told a briefing this week. “But we’re going to focus first on ensuring the American people are vaccinated.”

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-biden-upholds-us-first-...

NDPP

Apparently America is now 'awash in vaccines' hence Biden's vaccine transfers. By all accounts it is likely to be more AstraZeneca which the US has not approved for its own domestic use.
