The Arab countries number one enemy is not Israel, it's Iran. The Arab countries are actually working with Israel to oppose Iran. If their is a regional war it is  between the Arab countries and Iran with Israel on the Arab's side. The growing rconflict  between Sunnis and Shiah's is the driving force in the region with Iran leading the Shiahs and Saudi Arabia leading the Sunnis. Syria is just one part of this conflict. Russia and the US have been drawn into it with the US opposing Iran and Russia  trying to muddle their way through the conflict without directly opposing any faction except Sunni terrorists and trying to weaken the US. The US aims to contain and weaken Russia in this process too. And Turkey is also a major Sunni player opposing Iran and Shias.
