Founded in 2001, rabble.ca is Canada’s original online independent progressive media source. Currently, we are seeking a national politics reporter and assistant editor to join our small and dynamic team.
As a national politics reporter, you’ll be responsible for filing three to four stories or short reports weekly on federal and provincial politics. You will also contribute one long-form interview to rabble radio monthly. The national politics reporter may also be expected to participate in live events. As an assistant editor, the candidate will engage in editing occasional contributions on national politics, Indigenous issues and feminism.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone with experience reporting on national politics, someone with a strong sense of newsworthiness, a track record of meeting firm deadlines and a passion for social justice. We’re looking for someone detail-oriented and organized, and demonstrate excellent writing, copyediting and editing skills. French and English bilingualism is an asset.

For this role, we’re only accepting applicants in the Ottawa region; however, you’ll be working in a remote office environment and be working with peers in a digital workplace.
