Secret video from a Toronto homeless shelter shows people packed into spaces tighter than United Nations standards for refugee camps.
Believe it or not, this is a still from undercover video shot in March at a homeless shelter in the City of Toronto.
In this next shot, the superimposed box shows the United Nations’ minimum standard for personal space in a refugee camp — for one person.
The Toronto Disaster Relief Committee will release the video today at a press conference. Various community leaders saw a preview last week.
John Andras, Vice President of The Rotary Club of Toronto, was aghast: “I was reminded of pictures showing the lower decks of slave ships.”
