Are you currently stressed and strapped for cash and time due to the COVID-19 outbreak? It seems like more relief packages are being announced every day but which ones are you eligible for and which should you apply for?  Digging through all the programs is daunting for most of us.

This great tool has been adapted from information compiled and published freely by Jennifer Robson, associate professor of political management at Carleton University. She is updating the document as often and quickly as she can. It as a starting point to determine eligibility for the different benefits packages.

Two important caveats from Robson bear quoting:

  • The benefits listed here are for people who really need them. This isn’t a time to try to grab all the money you can. These are programs for people who otherwise won’t make ends meet. If you need help, there is help available. No one needs to hoard. Not toilet paper, not money.
  • If you get a text message saying the Canada Revenue Agency has money for you, that is a scam. Other than Emergency/Amber Alerts, governments do NOT text you. Here’s a link to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
