Moccasins ARE on the Ground – Stop the Fat Takers Hurting Mother Earth

Owe Aku (Bring Back the Way), with the assistance of resisters and activist from across the continent, protecting Mother Earth and Sacred Water, completed our gathering for a three-day training on the Lakota homeland in Manderson on the Pine Ridge reservation.
Owe Aku’s Moccasins on the Ground gathering is an ongoing training in preparation for direct action against the pipeline and other threats to Mother Earth should federal government policies support the tyranny of corporate greed.
A gathering of approximately 300 grassroots people, representing many different groups from Northern British Columbia to Texas included a large number of young people and elders. Many of the non-Indigneous participants reported finding that the intergenerational gathering was a new and unique power to them. This has always been a cornerstone of the Lakota Oyate.
